Reporting to the Supervisor, Crossing Guards, this position is responsible to safely escort pedestrians, as defined in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) across roadways at designated school crossings by monitoring traffic flow gaps and assuming right of way, while adhering to regulations, policies and procedures.

- Assist in training new crossing guards as required.
SELECTION CRITERIA:

- Must have the ability to remain alert and perform responsibilities quickly and safely.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management, pedestrians, residents, school officials and police.
- Must be able to move briskly and repeatedly in and out of intersection and stand for 45 to 90 minutes, 3 times a day in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to extend an arm out parallel to shoulder holding a “STOP” sign (weight of approximately 1 pound) for up to one minute frequently.
- Must be able to effectively hear and see oncoming traffic at a safe distance (approximately 300 feet).
- Previous experience dealing with the public and/or children is an asset.
- Training on the Highway Traffic Act and Health and Safety Act as it relates to the job and City policies and procedures is provided to all School Crossing Guards by the City.
- A Police Vulnerable Sector Check is required at applicant expense.
- A Medical Evaluation is required at applicant expense.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications
• Experience: 4+ years professional experience in Buying, Merchandising, Planning and/or relevant experience within Customer Success, Account Management ,Management Consulting and/or relevant experience in negotiating, nurturing, and growing customer relationships.
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Goal Attainment: Demonstrated success identifying business opportunities for clients and increasing adoption and utilization of company products.
• Relationship Development Proven track record of building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow-through.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Data Analysis: Analytical problem-solving ability. Uses data analysis, reporting, and forecasting to guide business decisions.
• Planning: Track record of developing business plans with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
•Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired and ambiguity is the norm.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in E-Commerce, Corporate Retail, Consulting and/or B2B
• Superior communication and presentation skills
• Effective territory/account management. Strategy development with multi-phase execution and delivery: planning, opportunity qualification and creation, stakeholder and executive communication, needs analysis, value engineering, services/partner engagement, opportunity management, and negotiation.
• Understanding of retail math and formulas for the purpose of making business decisions.
• Experience using analytical, account management, and productivity tools including Oracle Business Intelligence, CRM tools like SalesForce, Tableau, and Microsoft Office Suites.

About This Opportunity
As a General Labourer, Warehouse you will be responsible for physically handling products, materials, supplies and equipment. Using an electric/manual pallet jack, you will pick our customers order based on the information you have in your handheld scanner. Once your pallet/order is complete you ensure it is wrapped, labelled and prepared to be shipped.
Responsibilities
- Prepare orders based on provided summary to accurately build orders for loading onto delivery trucks.

- Capable of operating industrial powered equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Responsible for meeting daily productivity requirements.
- Move product and/or materials manually as required
- Responsible for staging completed pallets in designated shipping areas.
- Consistently bending, kneeling, climbing and lifting 50+ pounds
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Preferred;
- Prior warehouse/production/equipment service experience
- Ability to operate a manual / powered pallet jack or lift product
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Forklift certification is a plus.
