Performance Expectations

· Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials or business services for use or for further processing.

· Assess requirements and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.

· Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations.

· Define or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards.

· Establish delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.

· Involved in business unit to resolve quality, commercial or servicing issues with suppliers.

· Conduct ongoing negotiations with supplier’s contract’s to ensure servicing incentives are identified.

· Participate with plants to identify strategic suppliers and purchasing initiatives.

· Outsourcing projects which include breaking down components to establish target costs, processing RFQ’s, request for proposals and sourcing new suppliers.

· Develop strategies for short and long term goals and objectives to effectively utilize corporate purchasing leverage through consolidation.

· Analyze monthly sales for current and past years to identify seasonal variations in sales.

· Calculate year-to-date sales, average inventory levels, inventory turnover rates and order fill rates to diagnose purchasing and distribution problems.

· Negotiate contracts, resolve disputes, agreements, and terms with new suppliers and existing suppliers.

· Judge the quality of products and evaluate quality of service provided by suppliers.

· Locate data in a variety of forms such as invoices, shipping receipts, special order request forms and new product information sheets.

· Obtain data such as universal product codes, product descriptions and specifications, prices, discounts, taxes, and comments about suppliers and merchandising methods.

 

Credentials

· Post-Secondary education in Business, Materials Management or related field experience.

· PMAC certification or minimum two years equivalent in purchasing and/or production planning/inventory control background.

· Minimum three years previous experience in procurement functions in a manufacturing environment.

· Practical machining experience preferred.

· MRP/ERP experience considered an asset.

· Use computer applications and communications software as needed.

Desired Characteristics

· Able to communicate with co-workers, customers and suppliers about operational matters.

· Possess ability to read and understand engineering drawings with the ability to communicate technical information to suppliers and engineers.

Under limited direction, install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. Interpret architectural drawings and electrical code specifications. Form and test electrical circuits to ensure health and safety regulations. Responsibility

  • Oversee required inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Standards Act. 
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. 
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components as needed.  
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance. 
  • Update and log electrical changes. 
  • Maintain needed spares and purchase material in the most cost-effective manner.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • Troubleshoot various CNC machines such as lathes, mills, washers , balancers, etc.
  • Knowledge of robots and automation cells ( ABB, Fuji)
  •  Good knowledge of the electrical code, blueprint reading and electrical schematics
  • Familiar with trouble shooting motors (AC&DC), drives 
  • Familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems 
  • Good communication and organizational skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all phases of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems audit program, including the planning, scheduling, preparing, auditing, reporting and follow up to closure to ensure compliance and effectiveness of the programs.

• Organizing documentation review for the POC on a regular basis.

• Assist in co-coordinating third part audits (registrars) and assist in Customer and/or Suppliers second part audits

• Assist in identifying strengths, weaknesses and training requirements of all personnel as related to the effective implementation and operation of these systems.

• Promote and educate all personnel in the understanding key indicator performance measurable and areas requiring improvement

• Co-ordinate with appropriate personal any related TS 16949/ISO 14001/QS9000 training (eg., Internal Auditor Training, Procedural Training) on a 3 shift basis.

• Conduct training of Basic Gauging and SPC with new employees or as required

• Report on outstanding corrective actions and facilitate problem solving activities as requested.

• Lead/monitor and co-ordinate layered audits, the QSB system and prepare monthly report for POC

• Monitor Customer Websites and provide status reports

• Update and distribute documentation as required.

• Assist when required with documentation activities.

• Solicit input from supervision on training needs and help to identify factors in the work place that can identify a training need.

• Participate in the Certification of Manufacturing Operators.

The Electrician position, under limited direction, installs, maintains, test, troubleshoots and repairs industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. Primarily accountable for interpreting architectural drawings and electrical code specifications and form and test electrical circuits to ensure health and safety regulations. In addition, assure proper functioning and illumination of electrical equipment and work on equipment such as electrical transmission lines, motors, generators, distribution and plant equipment.

Performance Expectations

· Oversee inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Standards Act.

· Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components as needed.

· Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.

· Update and log electrical changes.

· Maintain needed spares and purchase material in the most cost effective manner.

· Evaluate power for new equipment and connect to the Ontario Electrical Code.

· Complete interface to CNC equipment.

· Coordinate with all plant services and contractors as needed.

· Train and direct electrical employees and ensure they perform to required standards.

· Interpret information from pre-maintenance work orders to determine the location and appropriate work necessary.

· Take measurements using high voltage testing equipment.

Credentials

· Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications.

· Technical school training and has completed the apprenticeship program.

· Licensed electrician (309A).

· Minimum two years of previous related experience.

· Able to read schematic drawings in order to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

· Ability to troubleshoot and determine resolutions when encountering malfunctions in equipment.

· Knowledge of phone systems, network cabling, security systems, door access systems and video surveillance systems is an asset.

· Able to work rotating shifts and weekend work, as needed.

· Travel may be required between Guelph facilities.

 

Desired Characteristics

· Ability to work independently, in addition, work as part of a team that includes other tradespeople and professionals to install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment.

· Receive in-house safety training to update certifications such as Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
