Contributing in this role means:

  • Carry out the installation, maintenance and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair of equipment on the various automated production and packaging lines;
  • Carry out inspection and preventive maintenance of equipment;
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production targets are met;
  • When assigned to certain sectors, carry out surveillance rounds of fixed machine equipment;
  • Carry out work according to established priorities, the availability of equipment and materials required;
  • Facilitate compliance with deadlines and efficiency in the production and packaging of dairy products;
  • Communicate the progress of work and projects to the people concerned;
  • Provide training to factory employees as needed;
  • Working with external companies to complete projects;
  • Carry out electrical installations;
  • Perform fault analyses and suggest measures to improve process efficiency;
  • Ensure that planned work is carried out according to schedule.

The qualifications sought are:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Post-secondary training in a related field (electromechanics, industrial mechanics, automation, etc.);
  • Possess MMF class 3A competency certification (an asset), otherwise be ready to complete the certification process (paid for by Saputo);
  • Possess an electrical certificate (license C or CRCA certificate) (an asset);
  • Training and experience with PLC (an asset);
  • Master common IT tools (MS Office suite);
  • Experience with maintenance management software (an asset);
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mind;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Initiative, proactivity and excellent work organization skills;

Main Purpose & Function 
This is skilled and semiskilled arboriculture work involving pruning, maintenance, planting and removal of boulevard and park trees. Tree pruning and removal is hazardous work performed with minimum supervision.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Arborist IA is the lead worker responsible for allocating, checking and reviewing the work of an arboriculture operations crew.
  • The successful candidate will respond to enquiries from the general public in the course of carrying out assignments, participate in preparing presentations, public demonstrations and provides on the job training to subordinates in tree care operations.
  • The Arborist IA will also be responsible for performing tree pruning operations around energized hydro lines and pruning boulevard and park trees using power saws, and other hand tools. This position would operate an aerial bucket truck and climb boulevard and park trees when required, using ropes and safety harness, operating a chipping machine as required and occasionally carrying out cabling and bracing.
  • Additional responsibilities include planting and removing trees as required with using hand tools and mechanized equipment.
  • The Arborist IA will have to lift and transplant established trees to accommodate site modifications, identifies diseased trees or trees that are potentially hazardous to public safety, and undertakes emergency control action as required and informs superiors of situations.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of the tenth school grade plus considerable experience in street tree operations and in the operation of a boom truck, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in the use of climbing equipment and rigging techniques, and in planting and transplanting techniques.
  • Utility Arborist – Certificate of qualification is required.
  • Level I First Aid Certificate is required.
  • Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate when required
  • Power System Safety Certificate is an asset.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of arboriculture methods, standards and practices, City and Park Board safety protocols, and arboriculture and utility arboriculture safe work procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of growth habits and maintenance requirements of various tree species.
  • Working knowledge of arboriculture pests and diseases, and integrated pest management practices.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of power and hand tools used in pruning, planting, removal, cable and bracing, pest control and general tree maintenance
  • Skill in the use of safety harness and ropes used in climbing trees.
  • Skill in the operation and servicing of equipment used in the work and in the use of tools used in minor servicing and repair tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform hazardous climbing and pruning tasks at considerable heights and ability to identify hazardous trees.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to identify hazardous and diseased trees and to take emergency remedial action.
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to assign, check and review the work of subordinates performing semiskilled and unskilled tasks participate in conducting performance reviews for same.
  • Ability to keep records related to work performed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates.

Main Purpose & Function 

The Gathering Place Community Centre serves as an important resource to Vancouver’s diverse Downtown South community. Patrons participate in educational, recreational, cultural, and social programming; enjoy delicious low-cost food offered out of the cafeteria; or simply enjoy the centre as the living room of the Downtown South.  

 

The Cashier/Kitchen Attendant position is responsible for the delivery of essential food services at Gathering Place Community Centre in a professional and welcoming manner with or without the assistance of volunteers. Customer service is a key element of this position.  

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting in food preparation, including preparing and packaging catering orders and light meals; assisting kitchen staff with cleaning; and receiving deliveries
  • Operating the concession point of sale and cash accounting records; conducting cash-outs; serving customers in a polite and professional manner; training and supervising volunteers; ensuring concession is properly stocked; cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards in the cafeteria; and other related duties as required
  • Ability to work with volunteers, patrons and staff in a respectful and supportive manner
  • Understanding of the various needs of volunteers and have the ability to provide direction as needed

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of eleventh school grade preferably with one year experience in a commercial kitchen, catering, or food service operations, including operating a cash register and providing food services to customers and/or other retail work related experience or cooking school training.

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of concession operations is required
  • Working knowledge of sanitation, public health, and kitchen safety standards as applied to the serving, storage, and preparation of food
  • Experience in dealing with a broad spectrum of customers and a demonstrated focus on customer service is required
  • Experience working with and training volunteers is an asset
  • Cashier/Kitchen Attendants must have strong people skills, be energetic, and motivated team players who possess strong organizational skills
  • Strong time management and multi tasking skills
  • Physically able to work several hours in an upright position and lift moderately heavy weights (10-12 kg)
  • Food Safe Level 1 or ability to obtain is a requirement

 

A Police Record Check clearance is a requirement of this position. A clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position.

About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Plant Operations, the Plant Operator will operate a plant area or unit in a safe, effective and productive manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team. This role will maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per Cenovus guidelines; while supporting on-site maintenance contractors by communicating Cenovus requirements, policies and procedures, and leading by example.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Issue work requests, safe work permits, and perform equipment isolations (LOTO)

  • Perform process & equipment condition monitoring including sampling, testing & analysis as per area responsibilities

  • Complete area operations records such as routine readings, log sheets, required reports, P&ID updates, car seal audits, etc

  • Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the site’s operating philosophy

  • Participate in the development, review and revision of Safe Operating Procedures, following safe operating and chemical handling procedures

  • Report all safety observations, near misses and incidents and participate in hazard/risk assessments, safety meetings and incident investigations, as required

 

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Plant Operator in a Steam Plant including all associated processes and systems

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment isolation in preparation for maintenance and safe work permitting.

The Faster Payments Email Money Transfer Technology Team is responsible for Providing support for Email Money Transfer functionalities. Support ongoing development and maintenance work around the payments engine and API's.

  • Contribute to application design based on microservices architecture.
