The Opportunity
The Casual General Labour Day Shift position is responsible for general production and other elemental activities related to hatchery operations. The selected candidate must be available for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday production, for the morning shift in the Hatchery. (5am - Finish)
Responsibilities
The general labour department works in the chick room and egg room with general duties such as grading and preparing the delivery although they also support in other departments based on business needs which could include:
- Sanitation: Ensuring our hatchery equipment is fully sanitized with the use of power hoses and our box wash machine.
- Separator Operator: Working with our separator team to separate chicks from debris when hatching
- Machine Operator: Working with our Embrex Machine to vaccinate the chick while it is still in the egg
- Driver Helper: Supporting our drivers with delivering our product to various farm locations across Ontario
Job Requirements
- Must be capable of lifting 40lbs. Repetitively (overhead lifting required)
- Must be able to work in a wet/humid environment
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to follow SOP’S & schedules
- Must adhere to HACCP requirements
