JOB SUMMARY

Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services is responsible for the day-to-day operation of facilities and service delivery for recreation venues and programs, parks & recreation policies, and programs for cultural services. Ensures the operations, processes and services are customer-centric and efficient. The units deliver community recreation programs through geographically aligned areas across the City, aquatic, sport and physical activity programming for all ages, as well as programming to address the needs of individuals with disabilities and population segments who may experience barriers to access recreation services.

You are responsible for all aspects of nursing care required by participants in any one of the Inclusive Recreation programs or regular recreation programs (Spirit, Variety EAST, etc.).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 4 year B.Sc.N. degree or 2-3 year RN diploma or RPN diploma and proof of current license required and also Member of the Ontario College of Nurses

Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in Special Needs/Pediatric/Rehab/Community with current technical/practical nursing skills

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) current with College of Nurses of Ontario
Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
Crisis Prevention/Intervention training certificate
AODA Customer Service/IASR Training

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.
  • Experience in using floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials, and solutions.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull heavy items as well as climb ladders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the general public.

The Donor Centre team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day.

 

In this role, you will assist in the collection of blood and blood products ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and all required documentation is carried out. You will play an integral part in building and promoting a positive donor experience and encouraging donations.

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your ability to communicate effectively with donors, you will conduct registration and confidential screening to determine eligibility and build and promote a positive donor experience.   
  • Utilizing your superb people skills, you will provide donors with information, instruction, and advice on blood donation. 
  • Drawing on your knowledge and experience you will provide coaching and consultation to donor centre staff, acting as team lead for collection events as needed.
  • With your excellent interpersonal skills, you will work in a diverse team environment assisting in the collection of whole blood and/or apheresis blood components which save lives daily.
  • At mobile events within our communities, you will assist in setting up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly set up for use.  

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of accredited nursing program and current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required.
  • Two years of experience working as a nurse is considered an asset as is a certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Previous experience as a preceptor or with coaching others is an asset.
  • Technical skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and programs. 
  • A second language is considered an asset to support a positive donor experience.

Customer Service Agent Part-time Job

This is a permanent part-time position.  The starting salary is $20.27/hour as per the collective agreement (Customer Service Agent PT) with a $2.50 premium per hour

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform shipment tracing and World Tracer transactions.
  • Prepare records and documents using multiple Cargo systems.
  • Perform data entry in multiple Cargo systems.
  • Deal with customer complaints regarding lost, mishandled, delayed or damaged shipments.
  • Perform lost and found functions and cargo services. Determine cargo rates and routings, shipping procedures, cargo check-in and delivery.   
  • Work on a cloud-based CRM system to reply to customer interactions through telephone and email.

Qualifications

  • Have excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
  • Have excellent communication skills, able to work with peers and customers by building solid relationships.
  • Customer service oriented, organized, and excellent at managing time.
  • Available for shift work and irregular work hours - early mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Available to travel and attend a 2–4-week initial full time mandatory training program off site.
  • Able to lift heavy objects unaided and repetitively weighing up to 70 pounds (32 kilograms).
  • Willingness to work under various climatic conditions.
  • Capacity to work within strict timelines to maintain on-time departures while ensuring safety at all times.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations. Please refer to Transport Canada site for more details.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position

The Early morning Warehouse Worker position is a physical fast-paced and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers.

Job Type: Part-Time – Permanent

Work Location: 60 Midpark Rd, London, ON

Workdays: Monday to Friday

Shift Start Time: 1:00 AM thru 6:00AM (Flexiablility with start time required)

Shift End Time: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM *(Start and finish time will vary with operational needs) *

Wage: $17.30/hr

** APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UP TO 25 HOURS PER WEEK**

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers
  • Learn and properly execute company-established package handling methods
  • Sort and stock packages based on postal code

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) without assistance
  • Full availability to work Monday to Friday (all five days of the week)
  • Ability to read and memorize postal codes
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
  • Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
  • No prior experience required

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $17.30/hr and automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement to $30.09 per hour after 48 months of service
