KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Data Collection & Maintenance

  • Maintains and updates equipment data base and preventative maintenance program.
  • Provides data collection procedures, forms and checklists to support data inputs into service maintenance management database.
  • Provides suggestions and assists with improvement of relevant procedures and resources.
  • Provides quality and efficient asset based preventative maintenance program.
  • Asset grouping of like equipment for coordinated maintenance.

Work Orders

  • Provides monitoring and reporting for PM work order performance and adherence to service delivery.
  • Advises management team of issues, concerns or noncompliance to standard.

Preventative Maintenance Scheduling

  • Creates preventative maintenance schedules based on assets.
  • Reviews and updates work schedules taking into consideration factors including but not limited to current workload and geographical proximity to facilities or specific site conditions. 
  • Generates reports to review Technician workload with team and managers.
  • Provides resource allocation recommendations to assist with optimizing resource utilization.

Job Plan Documentation

  • Liaises with relevant stakeholders to gather work procedures in order to prepare and/or maintain related job plans. 
  • Provides suggestions on applicable job plans based on asset or job requirements.

Reporting

  • Generates data and prepares various reports to managers and team.
  • Reviews reports and communicates observations and recommendations to operations team.

End User Training

  • Provides training to CMMS end users.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 1 to 3 years of facility services administration work experience.
  • Community college diploma or equivalent training (e.g. RPA, CET)
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others for the purpose of data exchange, clarification and follow up.
  • Ability to capture work procedures provided by others accurately and prepare accurate job plans.
  • Ability to create accurate maintenance schedules based on contract requirements.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of applications along with ability to quickly learn new software applications and information systems.

Overview of role:

 

WestJet is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to join our team. As the Person Responsible for Maintenance Control, this individual is accountable for all technical responsibilities of the AOC but may delegate specific duties to key technical operations personnel.

 

Key deliverables include:

 

  • Manage WestJet Encore’s maintenance control system, with the authorization to remove aircraft from operation due to non-compliance with regulations, or if the operation of the aircraft could have an adverse effect on the safety of the aircraft.
  • Implementation of the elements of the Safety Management System (SMS) as identified in CARs 107, 705.151, 705.154 and 706.15, as defined in the WestJet Encore Safety Manual.
  • Ensure that the person delegated with the management functions for the Quality Assurance program maintains an audit program, including the administration of findings and corrective actions as required by CAR 706.07 (3) and (4).
  • Ensure the implementation of effective corrective actions under the Quality Assurance program to eliminate or reduce the risk of the cause or probable cause of all hazards, incidents and accidents identified under the SMS.
  • Escalate significant occurrences, major findings, systemic findings and actions taken, and adverse trends that require additional resources to the Accountable Executive.
  • Liaise with Transport Canada on regulatory and aviation safety matters.
  • The AOC role is inclusive of, but not limited to:
      • Responsible for the administration of all AOC technical operations requirements
      • Responsible for the formulation of policies and procedures consistent with the safe, reliable and efficient operation, and maintenance of aircraft.
      • Engage in activity regarding budgeting fleet planning, facilities and staffing levels.
      • Responsible to ensure the regulatory compliance for the CMTS and the Maintenance Program including:
        1. Compliance of the computerized maintenance tracking system to the Maintenance Schedule Approval.
        2. Ensuring entry of items related to the scheduling of maintenance, elementary work and servicing.
      • Monitor and evaluate the results of Corrective Actions resulting from the Quality and Reliability Program.
      • Fulfills the role of Manager as specified in the Quality and Safety Management System as well as any tasks assigned to that role within the SMS.
      • Establish and maintain a reporting and safety data system to ensure the timely collection of information related to hazards, incidents and accidents that may adversely affect safety.
      • Authorization of ferry flights in accordance with the conditions and limitations set forth within the MCM and PSM
      • Ensuring the safety of personnel, guests and corporate resources by following and promoting all safety-related policies and procedures, and being proactive in managing operational risk by recognizing and reporting potential hazards and participating in safety initiatives.
      • Other duties as assigned and requested by the Director, Flight Operations, WestJet Encore.

 

 

Experience and qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of six years' experience in the performance of Transport Category Aircraft Maintenance and/or direct supervision of maintenance activities of the type undertaken by the organization, at least six months of which shall have been obtained within the preceding two years.
  • Must hold a valid AME license (M, E or S License)
  • Successful completion of Transport Canada CARs examination and interview applicable to a maintenance manager, with the expectation of demonstrating knowledge and competency to qualify for PRMC in a future successful interview with Transport Canada.
  • Does not have any convictions under the Aeronautics Act or the Canadian Aviation Regulations and is able to successfully complete a security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all mechanical/electrical systems and equipment; this includes disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
  • Analyzes test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators; troubleshoot/diagnose equipment and system problems based on data received.
  • Repairs and maintains the operating condition of production equipment, including reassembly of parts after completion of repair, testing, or inspection.
  • Continuously improves technical skills to remain current on equipment installation and operations, including the set-up and programming processes.
  • Utilizes welding skills to cut and weld metal for parts repairs, fabrication, and assembly of new equipment.
  • Provides operations demonstrations on production equipment for new machine operators; communicates the various safety, control, and operating features in a clear and concise manner.
  • Enters repair and maintenance data performed daily into SAP system using proper damage codes.
  • Communicates potential mechanical hazards on equipment to appropriate leadership and operators.
  • Coordinates completion of work orders with cross-functional team members, to ensure cost-effectiveness and productivity standards are met.
  • Ensures that any safety related work orders are given a top priority in operations, ensuring adherence to Provincial and Federal regulations as well as company policy and procedures.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives for operations and Coke Canada Bottling as a whole.
  • Provides recommendations on preventative maintenance programs for applicable equipment and improvement opportunities for systems functionality.
  • Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two years of work experience required
  • Prior experience in the role or equal vocational and technical training
  • Maintenance background should consist of hydraulics, controls, welding, electrical, PLCs, machine tools and pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of hand, power, and electrical testing tools
  • Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
  • Strong computer application skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
  • Capable of identifying defective parts and malfunctions in the production equipment and processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other departments

This position combines merchandising and sales.

Responsibilities

  • Assess inventory levels, forecast each customer's future inventory needs based on past trends and upcoming promotional activities, placing orders on the customer's behalf to ensure shelves and displays are stocked.

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Repetitively lift, carry and position product (weight up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height without assistance
    • Consistent kneeling, squatting and reaching above the head
    • Ability to push and pull manual equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck etc.) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance
    • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working in grocery, retail, warehousing or related field preferred
