Job Summary: As a Cleaner of the BGIS SCS Team, you will be generally responsible for cleaning in a designated zone with an emphasis on quality control, health and safety & striving to exceed client expectations. 

Key Responsibilities: Functioning as a core member of the operational team and reporting to the Manager/ Supervisor the Cleaner will:

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping or vacuuming
• Sweeping of exterior perimeter of the building
• Empty waste receptacle
• Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor 
• Cleans and stores equipment and machinery used
• Replenishes cleaning solutions
• Follow procedures for dilution of detergents
• Low and high dusting, wiping surfaces, glass cleaning and cleaning bathrooms as required

 Job Requirements:

• Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.
• Experience in using floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials and solutions.
•  Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.

In this role you will:

What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Core Banking and Payment Technology group. As an Application Developer you’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems. You will also assemble, implement, and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience. Within the team, you can expect to lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development, and integration of these applications.

How you'll succeed

Programming Skills - Develop, code and test end-to-end our stack of applications. Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including coding, testing, and debugging.

Systems Implementation - Participate and conduct technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform application systems.

Troubleshooting and Technical Skills – Work closely with key business and technology partners to ensure that business and client impact issues are well understood and addressed. Ensure adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies are maintained in all aspects of application management. Provide technical guidance concerning business implications of application development projects

Relationship Management - Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, clients, vendors and peers.  Lead discussions, listen, and ask the right questions to ensure problems/issues are identified and resolved. Express oneself and communicate with others verbally at an advanced level; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.

Who you are 

• You can demonstrate 2+ years' experience in entire SDLC involving application  development with the .NET framework. It is an asset if you have experience with Java or Python, Azure cloud and Windows/Linux OS.

• You have hands-on experience with ATM software development, integrating vendor software's & hardware's for CIBC customizations and Splunk releases. It is an asset if you have experience performing Development Integration Testing on ATM machines by operating, configuring, and installing software throughout the project lifecycle.

• You have experience in troubleshooting network issues & supporting production incidents, managing infrastructure updates for applications, leading project initiatives for all core and supporting applications.

• You have knowledge in networking, security certificates, application installations, server setups, scripting skills with Bash/Shell, DevOps tools and technologies such as CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, containers, build tools, Git repositories, and jFrog/Artifactory, WPF, MVVM, and XAML.

We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer to help build a modern, secure, and scalable web application deployed on cloud infrastructure. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-impact features that directly contribute to the product’s success.

You’ll be part of the Technology team in Global Wealth Engineering, leading the development of generative AI products for our asset managers.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

• Work closely with stakeholders to understand user needs and technical requirements
  Write and manage your own development tasks as Jira tickets with clear acceptance criteria
• Create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes in Figma to communicate design intent
• Act as a core developer for both the frontend (React + Material UI) and backend-for-frontend (Next.js) components of the web application
• Contribute to team planning, sprint reviews, and roadmap discussions
• Gain a strong understanding of the development and deployment processes within the bank’s cloud infrastructure and governance environment
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code aligned with security and compliance standards
   

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree, with a Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering background.
• Proficiency in web development using HTML and CSS
• Development experience with modern web stacks, especially React, Material UI, and Next.js
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript
• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries
• Familiarity with development and deployment on cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable)
• Ability to create and iterate on wireframes and prototypes in Figma
• Experience designing and integrating with REST APIs (bonus: GraphQL)
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and practices (e.g., Jest, Mocha, unit/integration testing)

The Team
Cash Management Program is one of the most critical programs within the bank and aligns with the bank’s strategic direction. The successful candidate joining this program will not only learn what it is like to be a full-stack software engineer, but also get to work directly with leaders from both the business  and technology side! On top of that, the successful candidate will get to experience how it is like to work within an Agile software engineering team. Finally, the successful candidate can expect to learn about mission critical payment and cash management services within the bank, how they are engineered, and get a peek into the future of cash management and payments within Scotiabank, Canada, and across the world!

Contributes to the overall success of the Payments & Core Banking Engineering globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

• Experience and/or certifications with Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, or other cloud-based development stacks  
• Experience working with containerized (Kubernetes, docker) applications  
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
