The Finance Associate Analyst, Customer Finance contributes to PepsiCo Beverages Canada’s success by acting as an integral part of the Canadian Finance team, supporting the sales organization. In addition to providing business and analytic support, this position contributes to PBC’s success by proactively monitoring business trends and identifying risks and opportunities to maximize PBC’s business performance.  The position will include extensive involvement in PepsiCo’s transformational agenda with a focus on a seamless transition of PepsiCo’s trade management system. Responsibilities

  • Obtain an understanding of legacy and go-forward systems to enable effective financial reporting throughout the system transition phase.
  • Validate the accuracy of pricing and trade is being accurately recorded within PepsiCo’s systems utilizing established tools and analytical skills.
  • Utilize models to ensure the effective reconciliation of customer payments against established trade accruals.
  • Effectively communicate pricing, trade, and settlement issues to finance, sales, and IT leads.
  • Provide insight and analysis into drivers of change for key metrics: vol, CDA, DNP, MC and profitability vs prior year and plan by division and product.
  • Support in identifying any fluctuations between the plan/forecast and actual sales trend, communicate any concern, and help developing solutions for driving sales or for modifying /adjusting activities to variations from the plan.
  • Provide insights and analytics that help the DOS/KAMs on customer team develop robust CAPS that delivers against AOP metrics and accurate QBP forecasts.
  • Improve/simplify CF processes by analyzing current tools and systems and designing and implementing new procedures for more efficient reporting.
  • Assist with ad-hoc and cross-functional projects as required.

Detailed Description

The position is responsible for researching, compiling, tracking, analyzing, forecasting, recommending, and maintaining best practices for solid waste data. This role is responsible for assessing and reporting key performance indicators. The Solid Waste Data Analyst is expected to work with confidential and sensitive data, including that to identify work force trends and inform strategic direction regarding operational improvements, capital investments, procurements, and negotiations pertaining to legal agreements.

 

The immediate focus of the position will include:

  1. Development and consolidation of operational reports used daily to assess operational effectiveness using python and BI tools,
  2. Support in preparing forecasts and completing sensitivity analysis to support capital project planning; and,
  3. Assist Senior Data Systems Analyst in upcoming data management platform implementation.

 

The position reports to the Operational Technology, Program Lead and works closely with the Senior Data System Analyst. They support Solid Waste Services Branch’s ongoing programs and the planning of new initiatives. The position also interacts with the Director of Solid Waste, Managers of Sanitation Operations as well as Transfer and Landfill Operations including their supervisory and technical staff as required, supporting the Division’s overall business priorities.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains operational and strategic metrics related to the City’s Solid Waste Utility and street cleaning operations.
  • Prepares reports for senior governments related to regulatory requirements and regional initiatives.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of data pipelines to collect, clean, and transform data from various sources including IoT sensors, asset management system(s), weigh scale software, time tracking, SAP, etc.
  • Develops data visualizations using BI tools, python and/or GIS software.
  • Researches, develops, implements, and maintains best practices for reporting and data management. Collates, reconciles, investigates, and resolves data discrepancies/anomalies/gaps; analyzes, charts, and interprets findings to support business decisions.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of data quality monitoring programs to ensure accuracy, validity, and timeliness of data. Reconciles and corrects data and processes as needed.
  • Establish and maintains good working relationships with key internal staff from operational branches, other departments, and external partners to ensure validity of performance metrics, align data entry practices with metric calculations and support meaningful interpretation
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a certificate, diploma, or post-secondary degree in data, mathematics, statistical analysis, or information technology or a related discipline; or equivalent education and experience
  • Considerable experience in data analysis and business process and performance improvement using structured methodology, or an equivalent combination of applicable education and experience.

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of data management best practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of data management, business intelligence, data mining, designing dashboards, charts, and other forms of reporting to support effective decision making for business process improvements and change initiatives for medium to large organizations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Safe transportation of product to customer locations
  • Completing circle check, log books, and other regulatory requirements including truck maintenance
  • Manual loading and unloading of product according to plant and customer specifications
  • Collaborating with various teams throughout the day
  • Provide direction and guidance to Delivery Helper to meet customer requirements
  • Supporting training needs for new hires as an overall team
  • Following all procedures (e.g. biosecurity, HACCP, CHEQ)
  • Positive customer interactions
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have valid DZ license or equivalent with clean driver’s abstract
  • Must have 3-5 years driving experience with a D license or equivalent
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Must understand and follow all Animal Welfare/HACCP/Biosecurity procedures (Training will be provided)
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours, including some Wednesdays and weekends as required (e.g. early starts and/or late end times
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to complete work without supervision
  • Able to work in extreme weather hot or cold
  • Must be in good physical condition – able to lift up to 50 lb. overhead repetitively
  • Delivery experience an asset
  • Familiarity with delivery routes an asset

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment activities for hourly team members including preparing job postings, applicant selection, interviewing, reference checking and offer preparation
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation and manage all onboarding activities
  • Administer the pension and benefit plans including coordinating with the Corporate Pension and Benefits team on new enrollments, plan changes and terminations
  • Provide support to ensure that payroll can be processed accurately and in a timely manner

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Labour or Industrial Relations
  • CHRP designation or evidence of working toward designation would be preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, food processing industry preferred
  • 1-2 years’ recruitment experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, prioritization and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Extensive experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with Kronos and SAP an asset

The Transportation (Execution Analyst position within the Inbound Rails Team in Canadian Tire’s Domestic Transportation department is responsible for proactively monitoring Inbound Containers and Vendor Pick up across Canada, and ensuring exceptional customer service to our Vendors and internal stakeholders. This position responds to any impacts affecting timely arrival and works closely with internal Dispatch team members, CTR Vendors and our carrier partners to develop delivery plans whenever necessary. The Execution Analyst also supports the data integrity and accuracy of information within the tracking systems used by internal and external parties (JDA/Yard Smart). This team works Monday to Friday however it supports 24/7 operations and requires shift flexibility based on changing or temporary business needs.

  • Proactively perform Container monitoring tasks to prevent, identify, resolve and communicate any Container or Vendor pick up delays, issues, or conflicts.

  • Ensure the integrity of the information within the CTC tracking systems (JDA/Yard Smart / PowerBI).

  • Provide operational status updates for management and other internal stakeholders as required.

  • Work with rail partners and other third party carriers to maintain timely movement and fluidity of the CTC containers. 

  • Contribute to knowledge skill set of CTC Supply Chain in matters concerning rail movements and Inbound container utilization.

  • Create and Update system moves for Inbound containers in Yard Smart.

  • Manage Team mailbox and respond to inquires from internal and external stake holders.


What you bring

  • Previous dispatch or transportation experience is an asset.

  • Knowledge of CTC transportation systems (i.e. Insight, JDA, Yard Smart)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hours of Work Legislation, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and the Highway Traffic Act

  • Excellent geographical knowledge of Canada.

  • Knowledge of CN & CP Intermodal Operations.

  • Experience using MS Access, CP & CN online tool, and Yard Smart.

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), including a calm, professional, and friendly demeanor under pressure.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
