Mental Health & Addiction Treatment Support Worker Full-time Job

Position Summary:  

The primary function of the Mental Health & Addiction Support Worker is to ensure that EHN Canada operates in a manner that is consistent with the goals andobjectivesof the treatment program during those periods when the counselling and administrative staff are not available or on duty. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Monitors all patient activities when counselling staff are not on thepremises andensures that such activities are conducted according to the "Patient Responsibilities", and/or the general operational procedures of the facility. 
  • Ensures patients and facility are secure after all scheduled daily activities have been completed in the evening. 
  • Makes available to patients, prescribed medications as per Pharmacotherapy and Detox Policies & Procedures. 
  • Makes themselves available to any patient experiencing difficulties and needing to talk to a staff member. 
  • Immediately notifies theappropriate oncall counselling staff, management staff or Medical Directorin the event ofany emergency or unusual circumstance. 
  • Documents in theappropriatelogbookany significant occurrences and a generalimpression of activities during the shift. 
  • Participates in case consultation and treatment coordination with other members of multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Administers first aid (if trained) in case of emergency while waiting for medical staff and/or emergency professionals to arrive. 
  • Housekeeping and clerical tasks as per Duty Roster. 
  • Answers telephone and handles all calls as instructed. 
  • Participates in in-service workshops as assigned. 
  • Performs other related duties as requested by the Residential Care Manager and/or Staffing Coordinator. 

 

Experience and Qualifications: 

 

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent diploma. 
  • Education and training in the field of Addictions and Mental Health. 
  • Must be able to read and write and communicate verbally and in writing. 
  • Must be able to understand and follow directions. 
  • Must have good hearing and eyesight. 
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C. 
  • Clear Criminal Records Check for vulnerable adults. 
  • Valid Class 5Driver'sLicense and/or proof of identity. 
  • Reported misuse or abuse of mood-altering chemicals for two years prior to application would disqualify an applicant for a period of one year from the date of application.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•    Successful completion of a one-year post-secondary business-related program (i.e., Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration).
•    Three years related experience in time and attendance processing, scheduling, or other payroll related activities.
•    Experience working with large scale ERP systems. Experience with SAP S4/HANA, SuccessFactors, and WorkForce would be considered an asset.

As an Accounting Clerk III, you will be key to ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations within the branch. Your responsibilities include processing payments, reconciling accounts, providing budget support, and managing technology setups. You'll handle month-end and year-end reconciliations, track inventory, and maintain organized filing systems. Your multitasking skills and attention to detail will support the branch's financial and administrative functions effectively.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processes payments, refunds, invoices, initiates purchase requisitions, and enters data and transactions
  • Reconciliation of online payments
