Position Overview:

• Pressure welding will involve manual welding techniques (no rigs).

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all systems associated with Work Equipment (Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic)
• Make Inspections and tests. Repair or replace parts with limited resources in remote locations outdoors
• Perform welding repairs
• Investigate and locate equipment problems and take corrective action minimizing the impact on crew production
• Plan work and co-ordinate it with others
• Prepare and submit equipment maintenance records, time sheets etc.
• Obtain certification in CPKC safety rules
• The work location is outdoors and, therefore, you will be working in all weather conditions (rain, direct sunlight, snow etc.)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• A Journeyman's certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Technician OR a Journeyman’s certificate as an Automotive Mechanic/Technician, OR a registered and active 2nd or 3rd year apprentice in Heavy-Duty Mechanics

The Shunt Driver is responsible for ensuring proper, safe and timely handling of inbound and outbound trailers within the Terminal Yard. The successful candidate must ensure they maintain a clean work environment with a focus on proper handling techniques and safety. 

How You’ll Help: 

• Move trailers to and from the dock doors. 
• Park and organize equipment in the yard. 
• Conduct a yard check, which includes recording trailer numbers, refer settings, fuel level, trailer contents or seal numbers. 
• Conduct reefer check including unit number, reefer settings and fuel level.  
• Seal trailers and verify required. 
• Ensure yard is clean and operated in a safe manner. 
• Assist Line haul and P&D Drivers with locating, positioning and other equipment requirements.

The Process Supervisor is responsible to organize, monitor, and audit production line activities to ensure conformance to established requirements regarding quality, cost, productivity, safety (both personnel and product), sanitation, and employee competence. Provide information and follow-up on overall product conditions (meeting or not meeting specifications, problem areas with equipment, specifications, packaging supplies, raw product challenges, pack and line schedule, etc) to Supervisors and operators for optimum efficiency. Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written).
