We are currently seeking a “Voice Systems Engineer” to join our team at the North York head office.
 

What you 'll do:

  • Provide technical solutions to Comwave business requirements, working with executives, vendors, and internal development teams. Provide technical assistance for server administration, upgrades, maintenance, facilitate backups and support.

  • Interface with Product and Project Management teams to break down product requirements into technical tasks and set corresponding project/task deadlines.

What you bring:

  • Experience working with large enterprise or service provider in a multi-site environment leveraging equipment including Metaswitch & AudioCodes media gateways, Genband/Ribbon S3 SBCs, and SS7 STP’s.

  • Experience in diagnosing network performance issues and working with Network Monitoring systems, Wireshark, and other voice troubleshooting/performance benchmarking techniques.

  • Knowledge in the design, operation, and optimization of SBC's and SoftSwitch equipment.

  • Expert knowledge of SIP, MEGACO, etc.

  • Knowledge of SS7, ISDN, T.38, SIGTRAN, MGCP, MEGACO, etc.

  • Documenting and voice topology visualization at all levels.

  • Able to work in a very fast-paced environment and provide significant contributions both individually and as part of a greater team.

  • Able to quickly learn and implement new technologies and network practices in a constantly evolving service provider infrastructure.

  • Experience with Broadworks and MetaSwitch is an asset but not a requirement.

What you will do…

  • Tier I & Tier II support for all network Incident and Event (Problem) Management - identify the problem condition, triage, isolation, dispensing appropriate actions to resolve [minor], and escalate [major] issues.
  • Communicate with engineering and technology teams implementing resolutions to defects or inefficiencies in the media environment.
  • Compliance Monitoring - Ensure adherence to CRTC regulations. – including but not limited to:  Audio Loudness violations, Described Video, Closed Captioning (overlapping text, missing, garbled)
