The WCB/CNESST Specialist provides case management services on occupational injury claims. He or she is responsible for monitoring and managing injury claims from initial reporting to the early and safe to work employee. Provides guidance and support for external and internal customers to assist in successful return to work. Works with internal vendor to ensure case management processes are implemented to bring files to closure and ensure compliance with legal parameters of health and safety. Liaise with the Insurance carriers, external vendors, health professionals and Centre/Operations to foster collaborative relationships and information gathering and dissemination. Participates in return-to-work meetings, worksite assessments, coordination of medical assessments, representation in legal proceedings as a subject matter expert and Division case reviews. Maintains injury data base and documentation of files.
Job Tasks:
- GSHMRIS data management – injury for Quebec, Atlantic, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New-Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Labrador, Prince-Edward-Island, Nova Scotia.
- Review Division reports, open claims – review and update into journal notes, create action plans, update medical information Review claims for first 14 days checks.

- Communication with CNESST /WCB, Vendor communication /monitor – case reviews Cost analysis /determine appeals strategy /Actions/next step to be taken in claims Operations Support – information gathering, target action steps Hearings.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY
Fleet Maintenance & Technical Services is responsible for: scheduled, unscheduled and emergency service; seasonal overhauls; vehicle commissioning/decommissioning; vehicle inspections and certifications; warranty monitoring; shop and specialty tool maintenance/management; maintenance of small equipment and special equipment such as fire, ambulance, ice resurfacing, turf, etc.; repair performance analysis; and Technical Services including specifying, acquiring, leasing and disposing of Municipal Fleet Vehicles.

JOB SUMMARY
You are responsible for providing a wide variety of confidential administrative support services in support of a department head/General Manager.
You serve as a point of contact for client departments, senior managers, senior external contacts and members of City Council, providing an initial response to standard inquiries and directing non-standard inquiries as appropriate. Duties and responsibilities also include conducting research and compiling documentation and data in support of branch projects or departmental inquiries, generating and making revisions to reports, creating and updating databases and project files, and coordinating the administrative processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 2 year community college diploma in Business/Office Administration or related field
Minimum of 4 years of clerical/administrative experience
KNOWLEDGE
- Relevant dispositions of regulations and legislation pertaining to the branch
- Branch goals, objectives, policies and procedures
- The City of Ottawa’s departments and internal operational and administrative procedures and relevant contacts

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Construction Site Management and Supervision
- Daily supervision and coordination of the interior finishing sub-trades.
- Ensure construction industry standards are met and ensure high quality control in the effort to minimize deficiencies.
- Ensure project materials and workmanship meet project design specifications and high-quality standards.
- Ensure smooth coordination of all construction related activities.
- Adhere to project schedule deliverables and critical path.

- Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required.

Safety
- Provide leadership and direction to safety professionals, and all other site personnel.
- Ensure trades/subcontractors / workers adhere to health and safety policies, procedures and best practices. Promote a safe work environment (i.e., site inspection, hazard assessment, toolbox safety talk, etc.).
- In the event of accident informs immediately according to Company procedure.
- Follows Company procedures to ensure safe environment, personal safety and safety of others.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Business or related field. Candidates with equivalent experience may be considered.
- Health & Safety related training applicable to construction sites including Competent Supervisor.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive construction project management experience (i.e., commercial, industrial, residential, new construction projects, tenant improvements, interior-fit up, renovation, additions). Canadian / Ontario experience preferred.
- Understanding of construction industry standards and operations (i.e., construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures).
- Construction project management experience in high security environment is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge and experience working with various tools and equipment.
