The scope of this position is to be responsible for developing, managing, implementing and analyzing Interline Operational processes. The Manager, Carrier Relations provides leadership for continuous performance improvement, effective measurement of performance and identification and implementation of corrective actions.
How You’ll Help
- Manage Day to Day Carrier Operations to achieve On Time Pickup and Deliveries. Requires interaction with other departments and Carrier Partners.
- Develop and implement Carrier SOP’s nationally, including applicable and required training for both Internal and External Stakeholders.
- Analyze and generate KPI, Metrics and Scorecards to measure and monitor Third Party Carrier performance.
- Manage Interline Carrier EDI/Web forms transmission to ensure compliance to corporate requirements.
- Consistently seek out and develop opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency in order to meet service standards and enhance customer experience. Implement Corrective measures where applicable.
- Achieve Service and Cost Target. Identify opportunities to increase profitability.
- Any other projects and tasks assigned.
Your Skills & Experience:
- College diploma, University degree, or equivalent experience desired, preferably in the areas of business management and/or Transportation.
- 3+ years of people management experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Transportation/Logistics industry
- Excellent process development and documentation skills
- Strong analytical attributes with ability to synthesize complex or diverse information
- Advanced problem solving ability
- Advanced working knowledge of Contract/Tariff comparative analytics
- Advanced systems skills and working knowledge of MS Office, with advanced Excel knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written – dealing internally with all departments and with 3rd party providers
- Customer Centric
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, while being highly influential to deliver desired outcome to increase profitability and enhance new service levels
- Up to 10% travel required
