How You’ll Help
- Identify required loads two to three days out and organize for greatest efficiency
- Assign and line up loads and deliveries based on efficiency and information from Fleet Specialists
- Monitor scheduled runs to ensure they are on schedule and advise Fleet Specialists, Customer Service, and/or Planner in next region of any changes
- Promote driver friendly atmosphere on and off the road
- Investigate and address repeat late deliveries, load refusals, and non-compliance with SOPs
- Manage Brokers and driver time off, updating time away and time ready in the system
- Working closely with the safety team on driver training and safety related concerns as identified

- Work with brokers on statement issues, missed payments and related concerns.
- Work with drivers in regards to payment concerns or disputes on irregular duties such as working time or customer detention.
- Liaison between driver and/or broker with Safety, Compliance, Recruiting and operations departments as needed
- Other related duties as may be assigned.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education in logistics or business administration
- A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a time sensitive, planning and organizing role, preferable in the transportation industry
- Experience using MS Outlook, Excel & Word; must possess the aptitude for learning new programs
- Strong customer service focus, relationship building skills
- Good communication skills including the ability to relay information (verbal and written) between several parties and deliver a positive customer experience
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills, the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements, execute and escalate accordingly

Formula for success

The Donor Centre team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will assist in the collection of blood and blood products ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and all required documentation is carried out. You will play an integral part in building and promoting a positive donor experience and encouraging donations.
Formula for success
- Leveraging your ability to communicate effectively with donors, you will conduct registration and confidential screening to determine eligibility and build and promote a positive donor experience.
- Utilizing your superb people skills, you will provide donors with information, instruction, and advice on blood donation.
- Drawing on your knowledge and experience you will provide coaching and consultation to donor centre staff, acting as team lead for collection events as needed.
- With your excellent interpersonal skills, you will work in a diverse team environment assisting in the collection of whole blood and/or apheresis blood components which save lives daily.
- At mobile events within our communities, you will assist in setting up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly set up for use.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of accredited nursing program and current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required.
- Two years of experience working as a nurse is considered an asset as is a certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Previous experience as a preceptor or with coaching others is an asset.
- Technical skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- A second language is considered an asset to support a positive donor experience.

What you can expect
- Shifts/hours will vary. - Physical requirements for the role include the ability to lift weights up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).

JOB SUMMARY
The mandate of Long Term Care Services is to provide resident care based on the needs of individuals, as determined by medical, nursing, functional and psychosocial assessments, and on each resident’s expressed needs. The care provided in each Home includes specialized, restorative, supportive and palliative care for persons with dementia, disabilities and health problems who cannot live independently in their homes, and whose needs cannot be met in the community.
You are responsible for the delivery of quality, holistic, resident care through the administration and supervision of the Nursing Program and staff in a designated area, with an emphasis on resident safety and engagement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 4 year university degree in Nursing (BScN)
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience, preferably in a geriatric-gerontology or long term care setting
Post-basic preparation in gerontology is desirable
Membership in Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) is desirable
Canadian Gerontological Certification from Canadian Nurses’ Association is desirable

- Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work place, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures.
