KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Perform controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation liaising with business and technology partners as appropriate
  • Service applications / systems and provide a level of application/ systems/ operational availability that meets or exceeds established standards/service levels, while minimizing operational risk
  • Partner with key stakeholders to schedule packaging and release new applications in a timely manner; reduce change execution times by planning implementations with parallel work streams

  • Deliver effective and defect-free support (application, software and/or operations), researching system issues / opportunities, overseeing the execution of recommendations and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Interact with clients to provide quality service/solutions consistent with objectives and client requirements
  • Design, review, and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations
  • Identify and address application and data issues and cross-capability and cross-release issues that affect application integrity
  • Consult with other functional areas to provide technical expertise on area of specialization by acting as a reference on technology, trends and processes related to own area 
  • Schedule changes to supported components in accordance with the approved change management procedures; implement changes with proper testing, stakeholder signoff, monitoring and with minimal impact to the business
  • May develop a working relationship with 3rd party vendors as required to fulfill support requirements
  • Act as partner in scheduling, packaging and releasing new applications and manage all application releases according to approved governance and gating criteria
  • Develop understanding of technical aspects of project / break-fix development related to the application and provide advice/guidance to Developers and Solution Designers
  • Responsible for incident management (2nd level), monthly maintenance, state of health monitoring, and SLA maintenance
  • Provide effective day-to-day production support for applications through accurate problem identification and timely resolution of production issues
  • Perform incident management role (communicator, tracker, escalator, driver, etc.) for outages; communicate to clients during service outages
  • Improve stability of the production environment by assisting in setting up, maintaining and monitoring applications/system


SHAREHOLDER

  • Monitor system lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions, undertaking re-development, as required
  • May monitor the performance of the environment by using meaningful metrics
  • Provide Disaster Recovery support by assisting in defining / reviewing disaster recovery plans and by participating in testing
  • Assess and analyze optimization opportunities to the operational environment to improve performance and/or resource utilization
  • Ensure effective change management discipline is use
  • Adhere to existing processes/standards, business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines; plan, monitor and escalate issues as required
  • Follow standards, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and applicable Business Recovery Plans (BRP)
  • Identify/implement process improvements to enhance revenue, customer experience and/or reduce costs
  • Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines
  • Make effective use of the cost management processes in place in own unit
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
  • Keep current with industry and/or business trends
  • May perform testing according to test plans, monitor and report on results, and work with others on problem resolution
  • As required, support the development of business cases, RFI/RFP and service level agreements with vendors/suppliers consistent with IT requirements/guidelines

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Monitors physical security operations at the client Datacenter. 
  2. Monitors cameras and access control systems covering data calls and entry/exit doors. 
  3. Dispatches appropriate personnel, as necessary. 
  4. Maintains logs and records in accordance with the Datacenter Standard Operations Procedure (SOP). 
  5. Identifies and escalates issues in accordance with documented policies and procedures. 
  6. Reviews all reports written during shift. 
  7. Ensures all scheduled posts are filled. 
  8. Briefs oncoming Supervisor/Team about incidents during shift or in progress.
  9. Maintains documentation and follows standardized procedures to successfully complete unannounced audits. 
  10. Collects complete information for detailed report and appropriate follow-up. Prepares well written reports and maintains strict distribution to “need to know” parties. 
  11. Cross-training will be provided for all site-based roles, enabling you to step in for other position coverage and offer relief breaks to guards, when required by operational needs.
  12. Prepares written and electronic logs and reports as required for the site while entering information in appropriate computer systems. 
  13. Read and comprehends standard operations procedures, post orders, reports, and other printed materials. 
  14. Performs additional tasks assigned by management. 
  15. Conduct training with the staff on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  16. Conduct drills, and Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QAQC) review
  17. Conducts foot patrols (for long periods of time or up to 12 miles of distance. It may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain) completing patrol checklists.

The Opportunity:

The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for effective troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of facility electrical distribution systems and equipment in an industrial setting. They will ensure safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and code specifications to determine lay-out of industrial equipment and installations
  • Conduct planned preventive & predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records
  • Actively participate in preventive maintenance program on building equipment processing equipment daily
  • Efficient production equipment set up, inspection and shutdown of all related equipment when required, including process changeovers
  • Assist in planning, organizing of work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation)
  • Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial equipment and automation including PLCs, HMI, frequency drives, temperature control and other related devices

What You’ll Bring:

  • Certified Journeyman Electrician with 1-2 years’ experience. Preference to those with proof of completing the Industrial Apprenticeship Program
  • Knowledge of conveyors, motors, pumps / compressor, electrical / electronic controls and high speed packaging equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of HMI's, electric motor controls, programmable logic controllers, basic wiring circuits and skills necessary to safely test common electrical systems and make minor repairs where permitted
  • 442A or 309A license required

The HR Associate, Indigenous Health and Well-Being, you will provide advice and consultation to City divisions, key decision-makers and partners, aiming to foster cross-team awareness, collaboration and engagement in matters related to a proactive wellness strategy. By applying your knowledge of the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace and knowledge in Indigenous health and wellness initiatives, you will provide ongoing support to the Employee Health and Wellness section on the needs of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis staff. You will also participate in mental health and wellness programs, training, and communications. The HR Associate, Indigenous Health and Well-Being will provide Indigenous staff with ongoing health and wellness support that is culturally relevant and addresses the impacts of colonization.
 


What will you do?

 

  • Provide support and advice in the research, design, development, implementation and evaluation of health and wellness strategy for Indigenous employees.
  • Provide consultation in Indigenous health and wellbeing, assist in developing knowledge on best practices, contributing to the development and enhancement of new and existing tools and resources.
  • Engage and work collaboratively with senior management, managers, supervisors, unions, Joint Health, and Safety Committees on best practices for emotional wellbeing, mental health and psychological health and safety in the workplace.
  • Participate in the divisional wellness committee and as a member in various work groups, committees (i.e., Ambe circle) and project groups as required, to successfully implement employee wellness initiatives and programs for the division.
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively on cross functional teams with colleagues, clients, client teams, and vendors.
  • Contribute to organizational excellence by providing expertise on wellness programs and best practices from an Indigenous perspective.
  • Act as an advocate for mental health promotion activities.

 

 

What do you bring to the role?

  1. A post-secondary degree in Health and Wellness studies (Psychology, Social Work, Health Promotion, Public Health etc.) is a strong asset, but will not be required for a candidate with extensive relevant experience delivering results in a similar role. Lived experience as a member of an Indigenous community. Certification in Psychological Safety/Workplace and/or Mental Health is an asset.
  2. Experience researching, developing, and implementing mental health strategies, services, supports and wellness programs, preferably in a public service environment.
  3. Experience consulting and delivery of adult education through corporate-wide initiatives and programs.
  4. Some experience facilitating working groups and managing multiple concurrent tasks.
  5. Some knowledge of mental health promotion theory and principles, and its application on employees and workplaces.
  6. High level of accountability, motivation, customer service focus and team orientation.
  7. Qualitative and quantitative research and analytical skills (e.g. survey development, data analysis, report writing).
  8. Ability to exercise good judgement and decision-making in handling complex sensitive situations, using tact and discernment, while upholding confidentiality.
  9. Ability to work independently, as well as with multi-disciplinary teams. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and union representatives.
  10. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  11. MS Office suite proficiency (Excel, MS Access, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Under the supervision of the Captain, the Deckhand is required to perform duties of a varied nature on a vessel which include:
 

  • Assists in docking/undocking operations.
  • Handles mooring lines and assists in the mooring of vessels.
  • Performs general maintenance and related work as assigned on vessels, ramps and docks.
  • Assists passengers getting on and off the vessel, and crowd control.
