About The Position
This is a temporary part-time position replacing a bargaining unit employee. This position will start asap and end March 25, 2025. Working 24 hours per week, earning $24.02 per hour and reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health & Safety and Emergency Planning.
This Person Will Help In Maintaining The Health And Safety Culture At Lambton College By Providing Assistance And Guidance In The Following Areas

Specific Accountabilities
- Work jointly with the Occupational Health & Safety Consultant as well as the Manager Occupational Health & Safety Emergency Planning on the implementation of new campaigns/projects
- Assist with programming for Safety, Parking, and Security policies and procedures
- Assist with Scheduling and following up with JOHSC inspections
- Assist with training analysis and programming for employees
- Assist with occupational health and safety JIRA work orders
- SDS inventory support
- General office duties e.g.: customer support, parking inquiries, and filing
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of a two-year post-secondary diploma in either Workplace Safety & Prevention or Office Administration
- Minimum of 2 years practical work experience with word processing and database management
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience
- Previous experience on a Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee is an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to handle multiple assignments, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Jira an asset
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with MyLambton would be an asset

Responsibilities
Reporting to and working closely with the Division Manager, the Senior Administrator’s principal role is to update, create, review, audit, analyze and optimize all financial processes, documentation and reporting of revenue and payable streams for the Division. The Senior Administrator also ensures all information is reported accurately and appropriately in Arrow and Customer Systems as it relates to all activities in the Division. This role ensures processes are followed and items completed in Arrow’s various software applications on an ongoing basis and as per accounting cycle deadlines.
Major Responsibilities
- Ensure all information pertaining to Revenue is accurately created in appropriate software, is regularly updated and reviewed for accuracy and is regularly audited and reconciled.
- Ensure all information pertaining to Payables are audited and reflect accurately.
- Perform comprehensive reconciliations of accounts including insurance claims, pension, health & welfare, lease operator advancements and holdbacks, Union dues and Arrow Star maintenance.
- In conjunction with the Division Manager, ensure that documented incident claims are entered in appropriate software and managed.
- Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable, receivable, payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and petty cash transactions in the appropriate computer systems.
- Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements, lease operator statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems.
- Prepare analysis and/or reports as required by division, internal and/or external customers.
- Ensure all HR/Hiring and related paperwork is completed and filed appropriately whether internally or with 3rd parties (i.e. required Teamsters paperwork where applicable).
- Ensure all files are organized and maintained and all office processes are streamlined for most efficient and effective operation.

You Possess

- Experience having worked in the Trucking and/or Transportation industry is a strong asset.

The Building Operator III (Electrician) is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems for the assigned facility. The Building Operator III (Electrician) is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.
At this position level:
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems as well as any other building on demand or PM requirements.
Trades certification or license in the following - required:
- Journeyman level Electrical license
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Subject to legislative licensing requirements and company policy:
- Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices
- Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection
- Performs regular facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems monitoring and inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met, uninterrupted client operation and asset integrity of assigned facility are maintained.
- Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides recommendations for enhancement and repair.
- Monitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, mechanical and electrical equipment and system monitoring and inspection
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
- Records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements
- Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
- Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentations are maintained.
- Participates in facility-related projects.
- Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.
- Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required
- Submits all expenditures on a timely basis
- Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
- Other duties as assigned
Work Requirements
- Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise.
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school completion plus a specialized technical or business course
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: More than three years up to five years
Knowledge & Skills
- More than 4 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience
- High school diploma plus trades training and certification or licensing
- Advanced ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Advanced ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment
- Advanced troubleshooting and resolution skills in order to determine and resolve building mechanical and electrical equipment and system issues
- Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner
- Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
Trade certification or license in the following - required:
- Journeyman level Electrical license
Demonstrates an interest in completing, working towards or completed one or more of the following - preferred:
- Facilities Technician Certification
- Systems Maintenance Technician through Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI)
- Systems Maintenance Administrator through Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI)
