Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates various types of equipment such as forklift load packer, automated side-loader, rear loader, tandem trucks, front-end loader, garbage compactor, bulldozer, scraper and patrol.
  • Operates light equipment, including various trucks to provide site maintenance, snow removal, sanding, and litter control.
  • Maintains staff facilities and sheds, including fuel, lube, and fluids area.

  • Maintains appropriate service records.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training Requirements: 

  • Grade 12 education or must obtain GED within 12 months of hire.
  • Five years’ experience operating heavy construction equipment. 
  • Successful completion of, or must complete a recognized training module for heavy equipment operation.
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 1A Learner’s Licence, and must obtain 1A Driver’s Licence within 2 attempts.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid certificate.
     

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: 

  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the safe and efficient operation of the equipment, and the uses and maintenance characteristics of the equipment.

Job Summary

This position oversees small-scale infrastructure projects, as an Engineer-in-Training.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Coordinates engineering site assessments and maintains records.
  • Coordinates site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Performs audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications and Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
  • Communicates with contractors, other civic departments and external agencies to provide contract administration and ensure compliance with Civic and Provincial standards, specifications and regulations.  
  • Reviews, and provides recommendations relating to technical specifications, construction materials and methods of construction.
  • Assists with the tendering process for capital projects, including preliminary documents, construction estimates, detailed design drawing preparation, material selections and specification reviews.
  • Analyses invoices, works within the City’s financial software system, ensures timely progress of payments  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering.
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
  • Experience in municipal construction and project management would be considered an asset.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, civic officials, representatives of other agencies and the public.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.

Weekly Hours: 36.67 

Salary Range: $80,150.88 to $93,935.04 CAD per annum (2023 rates)

The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for various tasks related to the daily management of staff and warehouse operations.  

 

Salary

$78,170.00 - $97,715.00

 

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to warehouse staff in a unionized environment; 
  • Supervise, evaluate, motivate and train staff so that work is completed efficiently, effectively and safely; 
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of manpower, equipment and resources to ensure that the production and warehouse needs are met on a timely basis, while ensuring that customer needs are met; 
  • Review the accuracy of the product load, rotation, ordering products and the availability, timeliness, reduced inventory and outputs; 
  • Make sure that security conditions exist at all times in the workplace and implement effective measures to ensure the health and safety of employees and to ensure that work is performed safely while following OH&S Act, WSIB prevention and adherence to any restrictions or accommodations, and the rules and procedures of the company; 
  • Develop and foster relationships between internal departments with a focus on continuous improvement of the strong and effective team work; 
  • Facilitate training and implementation of the warehouse management system; 
  • Perform daily Crew Talks with your team and follow up/respond to any raised employee concerns; 
  • Prepare and complete reports of communication, measurement, schedules, forms and other documents as required; 
  • Assist in the preparation of the department budget, monitor and control costs; 
  • Ensuring the safety of material and products; 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • 3 to 4 years of warehouse supervisory experience in a manufacturing or food environment is preferred; 
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, experience with the AS-400 system an asset;
  • Working knowledge within the SAP system 
  • Must have a high school diploma; 
  • Post-Secondary Education in operations management, administration, transport or storage an asset; 
  • Experience in distribution or administrative operations; 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; 
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative, ability to work under pressure 
  • Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written is an asset;

Job Summary

Under supervision of the CSR Supervisor, this position processes documents and responds to enquiries related to utility servicing and billing, property taxes, parking tickets and permits, booting and impounding of vehicles, general licences etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receives and processes applications, transfers and disconnection requests for utility services from customers at the counter, by telephone and through correspondence.
  • Responds to written, telephone and in-person enquiries regarding property taxes, e.g. levy calculations, legal descriptions, liens and tax certificate processing.
  • Responds to written, telephone and in-person customer enquiries and complaints regarding utility billing and related issues, such as Equalized Payment Plan and direct debit.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

  • Graduation from a business college or graduation from a one year, post-secondary business related program.  
  • Typing speed of 55 words per minute.
  • Four years' progressively responsible experience resolving concerns of external customers and processing automated transaction data.

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Knowledge of office principles, procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of business English and arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures such as bank reconciliation and ledger balancing.
  • Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately.
