The Buyer, Senior position, under general supervision, responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved vendors and placing purchase orders in response to product requirements established by various departments within the organization. Performance Expectations

· Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials or business services for use or for further processing.

· Assess requirements and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.

· Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations.

· Define or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards.

· Establish delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.

Credentials

· MRP/ERP experience considered an asset.

• Maintain needed spares and purchase material in the most cost-effective manner. 
• Evaluate power required for new equipment and connect to the Ontario Electrical Code.

Academic/Educational Requirements

• Recognized Certificate of Qualification as Industrial Electrician 442A with completed apprenticeship

• Knowledge of robots and automation cells ( ABB, Fuji)
