- Secures, recommends, and coordinates agenda items for departmental meetings.
- Provides support to various committees which the Managers, Directors, GM may Chair by typing and distributing minutes, preparing agenda packages, arranging meeting dates/times/rooms.
- Places and manages orders for such items as office equipment, office supplies, and business cards.
- Drafts and circulates internal staff announcements and other relevant communications on behalf of the leadership team.
- Coordinates and tracks departmental Council report submissions and City Manager Minutes.
- Coordinates travel arrangements for staff and ensures that travel profiles are maintained, and all required approvals are obtained; coordinates training requests for staff.
- Prepares, distributes, and photocopies documents such as reports, presentations, correspondence, and spreadsheets which may contain sensitive, controversial, or confidential information.
- Attends senior leadership team meetings and other meetings as required.
- Submit appropriate human resource action forms for new hires, changes, and terminations.
- Coordinate implementation of new organizational systems and processes to improve efficiencies on behalf of the department.
- Approve expenses and review departmental costs.
- Perform project work and prepare a variety of reports and documents for the Director and senior staff.
- Act as the DBL Mobility and SAP Liaisons
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 supplemented by courses in administrative management with at least 5 years working at a senior management level in an administrative capacity and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills including a thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and business math.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of and ability to explain and apply City programs, policies, procedures, and collective agreements.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Operations Worker II performs servicing, minor repairs, and fueling either in the shop or in the field as instructed. Other duties include, ferrying of vehicles, cleaning of the shop, inside and outside, vehicles, equipment,and car wash as directed and all other related duties.
This position requires the successful candidate to use the Fleet and Manufacturing Services’ electronic fleet management system, currently Asset Works M5 and/or other computer software deemed relevant to fleet maintenance. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Up to completion of high school and some work experience.
- Completion of a recognized pre-apprenticeship training course in the preferred trade of heavy-duty mechanic and/or other related mechanical experience would be an asset.

- Sound knowledge of standard practices, methods, the tools, material and equipment used in the vehicle maintenance and servicing.

This role will provide qualified candidates an opportunity to work in and across a diverse portfolio of facilities and spaces in the City, including several 2010 Olympic venues. Qualified candidates will be assessed on the basis of their skills, knowledge and abilities, and may be selected to participate in a mandatory practical assessment should they meet qualifications and requirements of the position and a vacant opportunity exists. The Fitness Centre Worker is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Park Board fitness centres. This position assists and guides patrons in the use of exercise equipment, ensures the safety and control of the fitness area and patrons, provides fitness assessments, and develops individual weight training and fitness programs.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing patrons on equipment and enforcing rules of conduct and fitness centre policies. The Fitness Centre Worker will also demonstrate exercises and the proper use of equipment to individuals and groups. The Fitness Centre Worker is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the fitness centre and its equipment, making minor adjustments and repairs as needed. The Fitness Centre Worker will treat minor injuries and make necessary arrangements for the treatment of more serious accidents and provide accident reports to a superior as required. All applicants must also attach their First Aid and any other relevant certifications to their application.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Completion of Grade 10
- Completion of a physical education course through a recognized educational institution is preferred.
- Considerable experience in the use of Fitness Centre equipment and some experience interacting with the public is desirable.
- Current Standard First Aid Certificate is required
- Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate is required.
- BC Recreation & Parks Association Registered Weight Training Instructor or equivalent required, Personal Trainer preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the methods used in proper exercise programs and the use of exercise equipment.
- Knowledge of the theory of movement, body mechanics and the prevention and management of sports injuries.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct individual and small group exercises.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct a complete exercise package and to develop tailored weight training and fitness programs.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the public and maintain control and exercise discipline with tact and consistency.

- Ability to orient patrons in the use of fitness centre facilities and equipment.
- Ability to assume responsibility for the overall operation and security of the fitness centre in the absence of full time staff.

- Ability to perform artificial respiration or cardiopulmonary resuscitation as appropriate in case of emergency and provide other first aid treatment as needed.
