  • At least 10 years of maintenance and industrial experience in oil and gas as a Journeyman Mechanic, Millwright, or equivalent, with a certificate in one of those disciplines or an equivalent field, an interprovincial Red Seal ticket, and a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Mechanical maintenance and construction experience to ensure equipment is installed and maintained according to the applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations, with the ability to simultaneously handle a variety of work tasks and priorities and make decisions and recommendations on technical issues

  • Experience with rigging equipment for equipment lifts on picker trucks and cranes and overhead building cranes, and with various mechanical tooling such as hydraulic and precision alignment tools

  • Knowledge in Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process piping and Pressure Safety Devices (PSV), and experience with rotating and stationary equipment condition supervising such as oil sampling, airborne ultrasound, infrared thermography, and vibration analysis

  • Keen safety awareness and knowledge of safe work procedures, and experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP or Maximo

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in our Automated Warehouse. The ideal candidate will report to the Automation Warehouse Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of ASRS systems, with a strong emphasis on team leadership, working at heights, and managing parts inventory. Ensuring safe and efficient operations is our top priority.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of automated storage and retrieval systems.
  • Sustain Automation related processes that can be used in Calgary and at a national level.
  • Lead a team of millwrights, and electricians, ensuring effective collaboration and performance and promoting good working relations and continuous communication with unionized employees.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, providing clear direction and support to team members.
  • Manage parts inventory, ensuring all necessary components are available for maintenance and repair including ordering and receiving of parts.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensuring the department is in regulatory compliance and aligned with company policies/procedures.
  • Ensure that maintenance support is available as needed.
  • Proactively improve the functioning of the process and aim for increased system efficiency with the ASRS storing and retrieval process.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor with at least five years’ experience as a leader is preferred.
  • Strong background in PLCs and automation is preferred.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in ASRS systems (automated warehouse).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work at heights and follow safety procedures.
  • Certification in working at heights preferred; however, in-house training will be provided.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., millwright, electrician) are preferred.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
