Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate meeting and appointment schedules.
  • Prepare and assemble information packages, reports, correspondence, and background materials.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, distributing materials, and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for information from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships across departments.
  • Maintaining a training database, organizing and managing accurate records and collaborating with internal employees on training logistics.
  • Compose, proofread, and finalize various forms of correspondence and reports.
  • Maintain the office filing system and manage document organization.
  • Collaborate on onboarding and job-related training for new team members.
  • Support the branch administration of Rewards and Recognition program logistics, maintenance of records and regular communication with stakeholders.
  • Provide support for in-person and on-line learning platforms, oversight of our Learning Centre and supporting external training facilitators while on site.
  • Support the department’s operational success by addressing workflow interruptions and adjusting priorities as needed.

Key Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have completed secondary school or equivalent, with successful completion of post-secondary education in business administration, office management, or a related field preferred, along with at least three (3) years of administrative experience in a professional office environment. Experience in the public sector within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
  • High-level proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.  Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Oracle databases is a preferred asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and professional interactions.
  • Familiarity with standardized administrative processes and adaptability to evolving workflows.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively in a collaborative team environment and leading self with a customer service mindset.
  • Capacity to adjust to changing priorities, manage interruptions, and maintain focus in a fast-paced setting.
  • Skilled at identifying practical solutions to challenges using established practices, policies, and procedures.

Job Details

Under the supervision of the assigned Project Engineer in charge, this position monitors and controls the electrical system equipment to ensure its safe and efficient operation and maintains and upgrades all Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitors the electric system for abnormal conditions and promptly takes appropriate action to restore electrical power safely and to return the system to a secure state, following outages or system disturbances.  Promptly reports all matters requiring attention of others to supervisor and appropriate management staff.
  • Monitors the electric system and takes appropriate action to ensure that electrical power flows are within the capability of system equipment, that system voltages are within acceptable levels and the system is operating efficiently, which may include the control of power factor or peak demand, economical acquisition of bulk supply and minimizing losses.
  • Prepares switching procedures and performs switching via the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.  Maintains logs of all switching operations and keeps equipment status accurately marked on the system schematics and virtual maps.
  • Ensures that the appropriate reports and logs are completed for all power interruptions and component failures.
  • Files and distributes SCADA reports.  
  • Performs routine backups of the SCADA system computer files and assists with software upgrades.
  • Edits the SCADA system database and displays to reflect electrical system changes. Prepares specialized reports and custom control routines. 
  • Commissions and troubleshoots SCADA master station and remote terminal unit equipment. 
  • Assists with the investigation of customer voltage complaints, the analysis of electrical system operating data and various other studies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduation from a recognized, two-year, post-secondary Electrical Engineering Technology program.
  • Eligible for certification as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T) with the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians.
  • Two years' related experience in an electrical utility, including involvement in system operation.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge of the theory relating to electrical power systems.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and computer programming.
  • Ability to perform system power flow and voltage calculations.
  • Ability to work effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your customer service skills, you will assist the collections team by greeting and helping donors book or rebook appointments as required. 
  • You will assist with setting up systems and Wi-Fi connections for mobile events by utilizing your familiarity with technology and aptitude for learning new programs.  
  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will work with staff to carry and set up/dismantle equipment and supplies. You will also load and unload equipment and supplies at donor centre sites and upon return to centre.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 4 drivers license or 1-3 with knowledge test and a clean commercial drivers abstract from within the last 30 days. 
  • Minimum 24 months verifiable professional driving experience as a commercial vehicle driver, within the last 3 years. 
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs. 
  • A willingness to learn procedures in a regulatory environment. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English. A second language is considered an asset.

Key Qualifications

  • Typically, the knowledge, abilities and skills required are obtained through completion of a two-year diploma in Computer Engineering Technology or a university degree in Computer Science, or other related discipline combined with one (1) to two (2) years relevant experience providing technical end user support
  • Certification in a Service Desk process methodology, such as ITIL Service Desk is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Service Desk operating environment, methodologies and software
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems and software packages, and a range of diagnostic utilities
  • Experience working in an ITIL-driven environment, principles and processes
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, analyze, evaluate and interpret information and make effective recommendations
  • Professionally represent the Technology & Digital Innovation Department by applying customer service principles, practices and techniques in communicating policies, procedures and processes
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing demonstrating fluent English language skills with the ability to adapt to diverse communication techniques to evaluate situations, identify problems and exercise sound independent judgement
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity prevention techniques and best practices
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and develop solutions to technical problems while under pressure and meeting client expectations and deadlines
  • Ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations with customers and employees
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic employees and external service providers
  • Ability to contribute and work independently within a highly motivated team environment
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues is required

 

Working/Other Conditions 

  • This position may be required to work irregular shifts and/or be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Must have the ability to lift and carry equipment such as printers, workstations, etc. 
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license is considered an asset.

Position Summary

As a Solution Analyst I, you will work closely with our experienced team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of both new and existing business solutions. You'll report to our Business Solutions Coordinator, receiving guidance and mentorship to support your professional growth.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • For programming assignments of limited complexity this position is responsible for the development of business solutions that meet business area requirements. This will include program design, programming, unit testing, system testing, acceptance testing, implementation and the preparation of appropriate documentation.
  • Contribute to the support of existing business solutions by maintaining (analyzing and correcting problems), developing, testing, and implementing enhancements to them, and by updating system documentation.
  • Work with existing application vendors to ensure best practice implementation of packaged solutions and approved SAAS offerings.
  • Maintains current knowledge of IT trends, procedures and standards.
