JOB SUMMARY
The Community & Social Services department is responsible for creating a strong social infrastructure by providing support to families and individuals in need in order to promote their self reliance and quality of life, in collaboration with community partners. This includes providing financial assistance, housing, childcare, employment, personal care and referral.
You are responsible for providing administrative support to community and social services (CSS) programs and services, including, but not limited to: data entry, filing/records management, reception and liaison with clients; providing customer services to clients; printing and releasing cheques and/or replacement documents to clients; and contributing to the overall improvement of service delivery.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of Grade 12
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service, clerical or administrative, or social services environment

- Services and programs offered in the CSS Centres as well as community agencies

- Reviewing and providing comments and conditions on development applications, technical reports, related agreements and constructions projects, as requested
- Creating and maintaining Branch databases, maps and plans
- Performing other related duties, as assigned
- Provide emergency school Crossing Guard coverage in a timely manner and performed according to operating procedures
Requirements:
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge normally associated with completion of a Transportation Engineering Technology program (3) years from a recognized Community College, plus three years of relevant traffic engineering experience, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced experience and skills in Microsoft Office and related software (i.e. specialized traffic/transportation engineering programs, GIS, AutoCad)
- Excellent research, analytical, mathematical skills and experience with traffic study methodologies
- Good communication skills, both oral and written, and customer service skills to deal effectively with staff and the general public
- Ability to work independently and to work under pressure
- Current registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with OACETT is considered an asset
- Ability to provide own transportation as required
- Ontario Traffic Conference courses/seminars would be considered an asset
