Contributing in this role is:

The qualifications sought are:
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
• Post-secondary education in a related field (electromechanics, automation, etc.);

  • Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documents are maintained.

Client Relations

  • Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through the manner in which work is performed and services delivered.

Administration

  • Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
  • Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection, and any other applicable requirements. 
  • Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required.
  • Submits all expenditures on a timely basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, JOB-RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Minimum 3 years experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditions systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair (as per applicable qualifications) mechanical and other building systems and equipment.

What you will do 

  • The External Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales to achieve branch and corporate objectives.
  • Maintain and optimize strong relationships with current customers, while developing the potential of new customers by offering effective professional solutions.
  • Provide quotes, technical assistance, documentation, and other forms of support or materials to customers.
  • Assume responsibility for developing new sales by examining market opportunities and the needs of potential customers, while customizing products and services, and providing solutions to these customers.
  • Participate in establishing branch sales objectives and assume responsibility for achieving sales results (revenue, gross margin, account objectives and monthly sales quotas).
  • Advise branches on competitive pricing to achieve expected margins while ensuring flexibility in acquiring large volumes of accounts or new customer accounts.
  • Proactively communicate with branch management on all aspects of customer partnerships, ensuring that customer and branch expectations are met consistently, in accordance with contract terms, and that any issues are resolved immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with branch employees while providing feedback and recommendations on new products, services and market conditions to customers and branch management.
  • Attend trade shows, trainings and related product meetings as appropriate.

 

What you will bring

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role with proven track record in profitable sales or cold calling, preferably in the wholesale distribution industry of plumbing and HVAC/R products
  • Ability to meet and exceed expectations for quotas and sales goals
  • Excellent deadline management and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong ability to work independently to effectively manage assigned territory and accounts
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Proven initiative and ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong organizational skills in prioritizing and multitasking
