The Details:

This is a part-time position that will start asap. The hours will range from 8-16 hours per week with potential for up to 40 hours a week during our peak seasons.  

 

Wage: $21.00/hour & $0.62/km

Schedule: 1-2 days per week based on the candidate's availability and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Elevate the shopping experience by consistently maintaining well-stocked and appealing product displays throughout the store. This involves the skillful transport of goods from the backroom to the front-of-store using manual or powered equipment such as pallet jacks and hand-trucks.

  • Showcase your creativity by designing, altering, or removing product displays with a commitment to adhering to company standards. This includes maintaining product signage, ensuring cleanliness and organization of product spaces, and promptly addressing damaged or defective items.

  • Uphold the highest standards of Coca-Cola Canada Bottling and Store policies when it comes to backroom management, display floor organization, replenishment, equipment usage, and safety practices

  • Take charge of the backroom by efficiently organizing product stock, monitoring and reporting inventory levels, addressing damaged items, repacking products, and maintaining order with backroom materials like pallets and product shells. Complete any required paperwork meticulously.

  • Experience with Caterpillar (CAT) auxiliary equipment, and Komatsu haul trucks
  • A valid Alberta Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate; attach your Journeyperson or red seal tickets with your application to be considered
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

 

Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform maintenance on and operate company provided equipment
  • Run maintenance repairs on our equipment, including troubleshooting hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and electronics
  • Remove and replace major components (engines, transmissions, wheel motors, etc.)
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance guidelines are adhered to and maintain complete and accurate records for the technical and preventative aspects of this position
  • Participate in post-event failure analysis and root cause discussions to develop solutions
  • Execute all planned maintenance inspections and repairs on all types of heavy and auxiliary equipment
  • Build practices and procedures for repairs and implement approved modifications for the heavy equipment and auxiliary fleet

 

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory

Job Details

We’re hiring a Mechanical Engineer to be part of a dynamic Maintenance Engineering team. We are particularly interested on a Mechanical Engineer that comes from the Mine Industry with experience on Fixed Plant equipment i.e. Crushers, Conveyors, Hoppers, Screens, Slurry Pumps, etc. If you are passionate about continuous improvement, root cause failure analysis, and one-time cost-effective repairs, this is the job for you!

This role gives you the opportunity to be at the forefront of our Extraction and Tailings operations, where you will have an immediate impact on the business. You will be directly interfacing with Operations and Maintenance teams to mitigate threats impacting reliability.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline, or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering designation or eligible for registration with APEGA
  • Four years of field experience in an operating facility troubleshooting equipment problems and providing short and long term solutions to increase the reliability and availability of the equipment
  • Experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability metrics
  • Experience with hydraulic systems is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Experience with SAP / S4 and Fieldglass is considered an asset
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is considered an asset
  • Client service oriented, ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team as required, and Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and excellent organizational and time management skills

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary contact between the Production Unit and the Rotating Engineering team, ensuring clear communication and coordination
  • Participate in daily and weekly Production Unit meetings to support equipment availability and decision-making
  • Provide updates and reports to stakeholders on the status of tasks, progress, and any potential concerns or deviations from the plan
  • Issue scope of work and inspection recommendations for Outage and routine maintenance activities
  • Issue reliability metrics reports for different equipment classes
  • Monitor equipment health, troubleshoot performance and failures, and complete root cause analysis
  • Complete equipment wear analysis
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to increase equipment reliability and decrease operating cost

 

Location and other Key Details: 

  • You will work out of a Syncrude Mildred Lake location in Fort McMurray
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
