Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports
Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated, tractor-trailer
Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, operate GPS (Global Positioning System), and other navigation equipment
Transportation/travel experience: International, long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, and regional
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks), and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Security and safety: Valid passport, criminal record check, driver’s validity license check, and driving record check (abstract)
Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone

Transportation information: Drive manual transmission vehicle, valid driver’s license, willing to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods, willing to travel internationally, and willing to travel overnight
Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer

  • The candidates should be reliable in meeting commitments while being team players

Candidate Status:

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
  • The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, obtain special permits, and handle documents required for international cargo transport
  • The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, overseeing the vehicle’s condition and inspecting various components
  • The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs, as well as conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
  • The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information and relevant details
  • The candidates should be able to tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo during transportation
