• Support plant operations
• Deliver maintenance support for capital projects
• Maintain condition of production equipment, shop equipment and tools
• Support process safety management and location safety efforts
• Conduct seasonal prep work including preventative maintenance and equipment reliability tasks
• Ensure proper set-up, calibration, operation and preventative maintenance of equipment, machines and facilities
• Utilization of predictive maintenance tools and techniques to detect and remedy machine failures
• Create, continually update, adhere to and train preventative maintenance plans for process equipment

As the Production Shift Supervisor, you will supervise, lead and coordinate the activities of a team of Production Technicians on a given shift. You will monitor daily plant activities and ensure time and quality commitments are met. Utilize your organization skills by managing work processes and balancing workloads. Supporting a team of technicians, you will capitalize on your leadership skills by training and motivating employees. This position works across the location; however, you will focus on several specific areas (conditioning, warehousing, packaging, etc.) as a process expert. What you will do:

• Review production schedules and allocate team members to complete schedules and ensure production expectations are met.
• Ensure employees are properly trained. Analyze and resolve problems or assist workers in resolving problems. Provide coaching and feedback to workers.
• Help to coordinate harvest activities such as preparation, sorting, drying, shelling, etc. Accountable with conditioning, bagging, and warehousing operations on assigned shift. Monitor product quality and ensure activities meet the needs of the Quality Plan.
• Develop and maintain good communication and rapport with plant personnel, employees from other Corteva plants or departments, growers, vendors, etc. Work with other leaders to coordinate workflow and resources between departments.
• Provide input for workforce planning and development, scheduling, and development of annual business plan. Complete and maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports.

Qualifications

What is required from you?

• College Degree is highly preferred
• 3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in operations, warehouse
• 3-5 years of coaching experience (including training and counseling others.)
• Able to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent at problem solving and analysis skills.
• Able to adjust to changing conditions, prioritize and manage work processes and workforce flexibility
• Basic PC skills
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Methodology experience

About The Position

This is a full-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Manager, Employment Services working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $38.01.

Under the direction of the Program Manager, in compliance with the funded program guidelines and College policies, and guided by performance targets, the incumbent assists job seekers who are multi- barriered, unemployed and underemployed to explore, access and retain employment and where determined necessary, initiates, develops, and secures direct employment opportunities, meaningful work experience & training placements for unemployed clients.

You would be responsible for facilitating information sessions/workshops and general health and safety orientation to clients, in addition to being responsible for conducting and participating in employer research, job fairs and other related employer focused events to identify target markets and outreach opportunities. These activities may take place on or off site.

There is travel throughout Sarnia Lambton on a daily basis for this position. The position is located at the Petrolia Lambton College Community Employment Services site. This position requires weekly evening hours.

Specific Accountabilities

• Using a client centred and collaborative approach with the client the incumbent develops a tailored Employment Action Plan which is monitored, and outcomes managed.
• Interviews, assesses, and guides the client to explore their career, employment and training goals. Works with the client to identify activities, incentives and supports that are most suited to the individual in achieving their desired outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date client records and files in accordance with funded program Guidelines and departmental procedures.
• Advocates on client’s behalf to gain access to relevant community resources and ensures continued support for access to services.
• Develops, and secures direct employment opportunities, meaningful work experience and training for clients. The incumbent develops employer leads and connections to support all service delivery components of Lambton College Community Employment Services.
• Creates individualized training agreements including determination of the appropriate length of placement, level of financial incentives, monitoring schedule and required assessments/training. Modify training plans and discuss resources to support the training process, as needed.
• Network using targeted marketing/outreach strategies to create and maintain effective relationships with the employer and community partners.
