JOB SUMMARY

Legal Services provides a comprehensive and complex range of legal services to elected officials, all City of Ottawa departments, and various boards and commissions (i.e. Ottawa Police Services Board, Ottawa Community Land Development Corporation and the Ottawa Public Library), in the areas of civil litigation, labour and employment law, prosecutions, and corporate, municipal, planning, development, environmental, and commercial law.  

You provide day-to-day clerical support for the administration of the City’s Claims and Insurance Unit.  Duties include the receipt and initial review of incident reports, entering data into the integrated claims and insurance database (RiskMaster), responding to internal and external inquiries on the City’s claims process, responding to inquiries to confirm details of motor vehicle accidents involving City vehicles, assisting the Claims Investigators to gather initial information on claims and assisting with claims-related projects as required.  You also maintain the corporate records management system, and provide general clerical support to the Legal Operations Branch. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of Grade 12

Six Pints Collective  is currently seeking a Boutique Clerk to join the Trou du Diable team in Shawinigan. Reporting to the Brand Home Manager, we are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, organized attitude, and attention to detail.

 

Responsibilities  : 

  • Represent the brewery and its products in an energetic and professional manner.
  • Assist with sales and store visits.
  • Stock the merchandise shelves and beer fridge several times a day.
  • Provide competent and friendly service to all customers.
  • Answer phones and perform basic administrative tasks.

JOB SUMMARY

The mandate of Long Term Care Services is to provide resident care based on the needs of individuals, as determined by medical, nursing, functional and psychosocial assessments, and on each resident’s expressed needs. The care provided in each Home includes specialized, restorative, supportive and palliative care for persons with dementia, disabilities and health problems who cannot live independently in their homes, and whose needs cannot be met in the community.

You are responsible for the delivery of quality, holistic, resident care through the administration and supervision of the Nursing Program and staff in a designated area, with an emphasis on resident safety and engagement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 4 year university degree in Nursing (BScN)

Minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience, preferably in a geriatric-gerontology or long term care setting

Post-basic preparation in gerontology is desirable

Membership in Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) is desirable

Canadian Gerontological Certification from Canadian Nurses’ Association is desirable

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Registered Nurse (RN) current with College of Nurses of Ontario

KNOWLEDGE

  • Scope and purpose of gerontological nursing and functions/activities related to the nursing process

  • Transfer and positioning techniques of persons requiring long term care
  • Basic knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations such as: Regulated Health Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act, Nursing Act, Mental Health Act, Professional Misconduct and Controlled Act, Professional standards, Code of Ethics
  • Principles of verbal and non-verbal communication
  • Labour relations and collective agreements.
  • Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work place, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures.
