Coke Canada Bottling Maintenance Mechanics provide competent and effective maintenance support to plant operations. The Mechanic will identify, troubleshoot, and repair problems in mechanical systems within production equipment and processes. Execute electrical and diagnostics test and other tasks as needed. This role also performs preventive maintenance and systems upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all mechanical/electrical systems and equipment; this includes disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
  • Analyzes test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators; troubleshoot/diagnose equipment and system problems based on data received.
  • Repairs and maintains the operating condition of production equipment, including reassembly of parts after completion of repair, testing, or inspection.
  • Continuously improves technical skills to remain current on equipment installation and operations, including the set-up and programming processes.
  • Utilizes welding skills to cut and weld metal for parts repairs, fabrication, and assembly of new equipment.
  • Provides operations demonstrations on production equipment for new machine operators; communicates the various safety, control, and operating features in a clear and concise manner.
  • Enters repair and maintenance data performed daily into SAP system using proper damage codes.
  • Communicates potential mechanical hazards on equipment to appropriate leadership and operators.
  • Coordinates completion of work orders with cross-functional team members, to ensure cost-effectiveness and productivity standards are met.
  • Ensures that any safety related work orders are given a top priority in operations, ensuring adherence to Provincial and Federal regulations as well as company policy and procedures.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives for operations and Coke Canada Bottling as a whole.
  • Provides recommendations on preventative maintenance programs for applicable equipment and improvement opportunities for systems functionality.
  • Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two years of work experience required
  • Prior experience in the role or equal vocational and technical training
  • Maintenance background should consist of hydraulics, controls, welding, electrical, PLCs, machine tools and pneumatics
  • Working knowledge of hand, power, and electrical testing tools
  • Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
  • Strong computer application skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP

  1. Provide daily supervision of vehicle maintenance staff and equipment. Is readily available to answer staff questions, provide on-the-job training and clear instructions. Ensure SOPs and equipment are up-to-date to maximize productivity without compromising standards and safety. Engage the services of outside suppliers to purchase just-in-time repair parts and to perform services. Oversee the inventory of spare parts through a stockroom with a perpetual inventory and procurement.
  4. Recommend changes in on-site procedures to respond to regulatory changes (i.e. safety) and to meet customer service expectations. Identify training and development needs of the team, and inform Supervisor.
  5. Share information with Supervisor and others regularly. Assist with budget preparation and setting financial controls. Represent function at meetings and as required on committees. Provide information for RFQs and RFPs. Respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

 

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum high school (Grade 12) diploma or equivalent
  • Ontario Motor Vehicle Mechanics Licence, class 310T

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years experience in a Vehicle Maintenance environment, Heavy Duty Vehicles preferred, with 2 years experience as a team lead or supervisor in a unionized environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, development and successful implementation of effective and quality solutions to support client data processing, reporting and analytics.
  • Work within a big data ecosystem (GCP, Hadoop) to design and deliver complex software components and applications.
  • Analyze complex business requirements and transform them into robust technical specifications.
  • Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.
  • Effectively contribute to and collaborate with a dynamic, agile development team, working to build a high-performing team in an inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate and clearly communicate with partner BA, QA and business teams.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 5+ years of relevant software development and IT industry work experience, with focus on big data technologies
  • Disciplined in development methodology and familiar with software development technologies and concepts. Hands on experience in design, development and successful deployment of large-scale projects from end to end
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Candidate should be able to work both independently and, in a team, -oriented collaborative environment, by understanding the design documents and handling application development, unit testing and QA support
  • Excellent programming skills in Python
  • Hands-on working experience in Django frameworks is an asset.
  • Experience with a wide spectrum of big data technologies including Hive, Spark, HQL, Spark, SQL, Hadoop/HDFS
  • Practical expertise using agile delivery with deep understating of core agile concepts, and continuous delivery and deployment methodologies (GitHub, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, Airflow, etc).
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, including database modeling.
  • Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Kafka and NiFi is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in Capital Markets and Master Data Management would be an asset
