The Opportunity:

The incumbent supervises hourly employees on a shift within a department in the achievement of distribution workloads with due emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, food and employee safety. This role is planned to be a shift of Sunday to Thursday, 11pm - 7:30am.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Directs employees in the operation of plant equipment to meet order fulfillment rates and inventory accuracy
• Prepares progress reports and ensures regular maintenance of equipment
• Maximizes attendance and follow-up to reduce absenteeism by coaching, conducts accident investigations, and takes disciplinary statements and administers discipline in line with the DC’s Discipline Policy
• Provides leadership by instilling team goals and objectives; fosters good staff relationships in order to gain commitment from hourly employees
• Ensures machinery and equipment are safe, hourly employees are trained and qualified on machinery prior to working on machinery and equipment
• Ensure employee safety and compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Ensure Quality Compliance with all HACCP procedures

POSITION SUMMARY
The Feed Truck Driver is responsible for the efficient delivery of feed products while providing courteous, quality-conscious customer service as set out by Maple Leaf Agri-Farms company guidelines.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides quality customer service
• Delivers loads of feed as assigned by dispatcher
• Performs daily pre-trip, and weekly truck/trailer inspections
• Reports and discusses truck/trailer maintenance concerns with supervisor
• Maintains log book as required
• Keeps tractor/trailer unit clean and well organized, both inside and out, notwithstanding inclement weather conditions and the demand for on-time feed delivery
• Performs all paperwork according to business requirements
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from +40 to -40 degrees Celsius

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class 1A Driver’s License with favorable Driver’s Abstract

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Manage the Human Resources function to ensure that key HR initiatives are aligned with the Plant operational strategy
• Primary deliverables include tools and interventions in the areas of performance management, work environment practices, rewards and recognition, retention, leadership development, compensation, employee development and advancement, diversity and employee satisfaction 
• Provides advice and guidance in all Labour Relations matters, including grievance/dispute resolution, interpretation and application of the CBA and all disciplinary matters
• Ensure that Human Resources Key Performance Indicators such as Attendance, Turnover, Retention are tracked and monitored 
• Facilitate execution of plant operations and corporate programs (e.g. succession planning, orientation, PAD and DAP planning etc.)
• Prepares and administers the HR budget and ensuring effective control to ensure that spending is within budget
• Drives Continuous Improvement initiatives related to Human Resources
• Develops and drives the execution of an annual HR Plan for the facility which focuses on the delivery of key Plant and Corporate HR initiatives

He/She performs in a physical, fast-paced environment involving driving, continual lifting, lowering, and carrying packages. Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs./32 kgs. unassisted and up to 150 lbs. with assistance
