Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-time Customer Care Associate to join our dynamic Donor Relations & Field Operations team. 

 

The Donor Relations & Field Operations team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing exceptional customer service while communicating with customers.  In this role, you will act as an ambassador to Canadian Blood Services following our commitment to donors by delivering exceptional experiences that are easy and personal and where everyone feels valued.  As a Customer Care Associate, you will be responsible for handling more advanced, complex inquiries, while encouraging eligible and potential donors to donate to meet collections required for blood and blood products in Canada.

  • Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will analyze a customer's service needs, provide consistent high-quality customer service experience, advocate for our customers, and, refer them to other service or technical departments for follow up as needed.
  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will respond to a variety of inquiries and feedback received from external stakeholders such as the public, donors, registrants, customers and support internal stakeholders.  Information is received via a variety of channels including but not limited to chat, voice, email, survey case management and social media.
  • You will clarify and record information received in a complete, accurate, concise, and timely manner actioning as appropriate.
  • As a team player, you will build effective relationships, by delivering a personalized, consistent, and exceptional experience every time as well as ensuring responses are empathetic, respectful, regardless of interaction channel.
  • You will perform other related duties as required.
     

Desired education and skills

 

  • Completion of secondary education in Communication Studies, Social Media, or in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably courses in a Professional Writing-Communications, Creative Writing, or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience in a contact centre/customer service environment.
  • Knowledge and expertise in multiple social media platforms and creating social media engagement and posts.  Experience using social media management tools is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and collaborate effectively with colleagues from different departments and backgrounds.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.  Fluency in French is preferred.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to urgent matters while maintaining a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.

Learning contracts, prior learning assessment and PLAR recognition initiatives, withdrawals and course add/drop requests;

  • Supports the administration of program assessment tools (Key Performance Indicators and course assessments);

  • Attends to processes related to student enrolment management systems and procedures by locating directives and following processes and timelines as required;

  • Attends to processes related to Comms course outline submission deadlines and produces Comms outline completion reports for review by the Chair;

  • Acts as the departmental hub in the dissemination of accurate and timely information.

 

3. Organizes and attends to details relating to all department meetings:

  • Communicates broadly within the department and arranges meetings for:

    • Program Advisory Committees (PAC)

    • High Risk meetings

    • Faculty/Staff meetings

    • Evaluation & Promotion / Final Grades

    • Program Quality Review

    • Student meetings

    • Outside Stakeholders

    • Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN)

  • This work includes booking rooms, preparing related materials, ordering and arranging for meeting refreshments as required;

  • Creates, posts and distributes minutes and other meeting-related documents;

  • Maintains committee member lists;

  • Supports Program Advisory Committees, collates information, provides initial drafts of annual reports and takes minutes as required.

 

4. Coordinates administrative deadlines

  • Assists the Chair in the development of routines and procedures for the smooth function of daily operations;

  • Handles inquiries and concerns regarding on-going department activities and programs.

 

5. Provides hospitality for and general orientation to new professors/instructors.

  • Assists new professors/instructors by explaining regular procedures.

 

6. Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Assists with College functions as required;

  • Provides backup assistance when other department support staff are absent.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) year diploma in Executive Office Administration or equivalent;

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a busy client-centered service environment operating within large complex systems. Experience in writing routine correspondence and in developing and drafting reports. Experience managing simultaneous deadlines with minimal supervision.

In this role, you may be called upon to do on-call delivery agent OR on-call postal clerk work: 


•    On-call delivery agent (also known as a letter carrier). You’ll be the face of Canada Post in your community and make sure customers and businesses get the mail and parcels they’re waiting for.


•    On-call postal clerk- you will have the opportunity to work various shifts, including days, evenings, overnights and weekends. This temporary on-call position is an excellent opportunity to learn about the business of mail operations, as well as the great jobs available at Canada Post.


 

Job Responsibilities

 

As a Delivery Agent-What will you do?


•    You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries


•    You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle


•    You’ll then spend most of your day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route


•    You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery

What must you have?

•    The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day


•    The ability to work in all types of weather


•    The availability to be on-call, possibly evenings and weekends 


•    The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
