We have an amazing team at Canadian Natural that is looking for a self-motivated individual with advanced time management skills and a strong work ethic to fill the role of Safety Trainer. Reporting to the Training Lead, you will perform a wide range of activities related to safety training. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver safety and supervisor training programs to Oil Sands workers.
- Job location: Horizon Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta - Company sponsored fly-in/fly-out and camp facilities with flights from Calgary or Edmonton
- Shift schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off, 10 hr shifts
- Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver safety training programs to the Horizon Oil Sands site and occasionally to the Albian Oil Sands site. Examples of courses include: Confined Space, Safe Work Permit, Gas Monitor Training, Supervisor Training, Mobile Equipment Training
- Perform all administrative duties associated with conducting training
- Support ongoing evaluation and implementation of quality safety training programs by ensuring safety training is delivered as legislated and is compatible with Canadian Natural’s standards and procedures along with industry best practices
- Assist with various program audits as well as deliver key messages or training in line with Canadian Natural's core value of safety when required
- Research government regulations and provide advice as required
What You Bring to the Role:
- Minimum of 5 years in Health & Safety and /or Oil & Gas Operations
- Grade 12 or GED and a valid Class 5 driver’s license is required
- Experience in Health & Safety, familiar with OH&S standards & practices and experience delivering training is desired
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), and/or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety as well as education in adult learning would be considered an asset
- Computer skills essential (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)
