Job Details

  • Performing maintenance service and inspection on equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing defects
  • Repairing equipment or other City property outside of the garage area

  • Responsible for full garage operation during night shift
  • Performing various duties related to Winter Control/Call Board activities

Requirements:

  • Must possess current Motor Vehicle Repairer Certificates (Province of Ontario – 310S and 310T) or possess current Motor Vehicle Repairer Certificate 310T and be able to obtain Motor Vehicle Repairer Certificate 310S within first 12 months of employment. Must possess or be able to obtain Automotive Propane Certificate ICE-P, Automotive Natural Gas Certificate ICE-NG and Motive Power Trades Air Conditioning Certificate. Heavy-duty Equipment Certificate would be an asset
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in repairing off-road as well as heavy-duty equipment. Demonstrated ability to make inspections of automotive equipment for service and to diagnose and repair electrical circuits, solenoid controls, hydraulic systems and automotive computer systems as applied to City and off-road equipment
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and in the operation of machines and equipment commonly used in the automotive mechanics’ trade
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Ontario Driver’s License, minimum Class “DZ,” and the ability to pass the City’s tests for motor vehicle operations
  • Good communication skills and ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to read, understand and follow general and technical instructions
  • Able to complete forms and maintain accurate records relevant to the job, in a computerized environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, respectful, tact and courtesy in discussing information with operators, colleagues and supervisors. Neat and proficient in work habits
  • Established skills and experience using PC equipment and related software applications
  • Demonstrated ability set priorities, schedule, direct and provide effective instructions to less qualified employees
  • The job requires scheduled evening and night shifts in accordance with Article 11.05 (c) of CUPE Local #250 Collective Agreement
  • Must be able to serve on the Winter Call Board
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to apply, relevant safety policies, standards and legislation (Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, etc.)

Our Bus Fleet Maintenance Office is seeking Mechanic 310T  (Coach Technician ) on contract and on permanent basis to diagnose, repair and inspect buses. Coach Technicians must be flexible to work in either of our A facilities including Streetsville and Oshawa Bus Garages.

 

What will I be doing?

  • Carrying out the diagnosis of bus systems.
  • Implementing replacement, adjustments or repairs to defective parts and components; and conducting quality control checks. 
  • Perform Ministry of Transportation (MTO) required inspections as functions of the preventative maintenance program/commissioning process.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Must possess and maintain certification as a Truck and Coach Technician, 310T designation, Interprovincial/Provincial Status. 
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Truck and Coach Technician - 310T designation in a transit /highway bus or similar heavy-duty repair environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of heavy transit and highway bus maintenance/repair, manufacturers’ specifications/schematics, MTO specifications/requirements pertaining to legislated bus inspection requirements, and state of the art transit/mechanical technology. 
  • Must have a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence.  Must meet corporate standard for a good driving record and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class “C” driver's licence and “Z” endorsement. 
  • Must be able to obtain Ozone Depletion Card. 
  • Must successfully complete bus related technical courses such as air conditioning, electrical and brakes, as well as other environmental and safety training as required by corporate policy.

Inside Sales Representative - HVAC-R Full-time Job

You have the privilege of building strong relationships with each customer and are the primary point of contact for establishing orders for delivery. You work closely with our outside sales team and warehouse team to ensure deliveries are fulfilled and communicated correctly to everyone involved in the shipping process.

What you will do:

  • Assume responsibility for order processing, which includes quoting prices within established margins, sourcing additional products and creating purchase orders.
  • Enter quotes and orders into the system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accuracy in pricing, inventory and order information provided to customers.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing customers via telephone or email with the goal of driving additional sales.
  • Prepare quotes and process orders on behalf of outside sales staff.
  • Respond to customer requests promptly.
  • Achieve sales goals set by management by promoting or upselling products.
  • Adhere to the Company's safety policies and regulations.

 

What you will bring:

  • Previous experience in inside sales in a related industry
  • DEC in building mechanics or DEP in plumbing and heating (an asset)
  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office; knowledge of AS400 system an asset
  • High level of commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Proven initiative and ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong organizational skills with respect to prioritizing and completing multiple tasks on a regular basis

As a  Merchandising Specialist , you will be part of a global sales team. The Merchandiser will work in collaboration with the regional sales team and will report to the Area Manager. You will carry out merchandising activities according to the established plan and the available space in order to ensure the effective marketing of Molson products to customers in your territory in order to achieve sales volume and market share objectives. Responsibilities:

  • Carry out merchandising activities in your territory according to the defined parameters as well as your visiting schedule;
  • Ensure excellent merchandising activities and proper use of advertising materials in your territory;
  • Optimize the distribution and presentation of doors in store (rotation, new products, etc.);
  • Seize all opportunities for additional sales through new merchandising spaces at your customers' premises;
  • Develop and maintain privileged business relationships with your customers by ensuring that problems are resolved quickly and that their level of satisfaction is optimal;
  • Enter orders into systems and work closely with the Telesales department;
  • Stay abreast of competitive initiatives and initiate appropriate actions.

 

Other qualifications:

  • You have at least a DES. A DEC or Baccalaureate in a relevant field will be considered an asset;
  • You have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the field of merchandising or sales.
  • Experience in the food industry is a strong asset;
  • You know the main merchandising and sales techniques
  • You have a valid class 5 driving license and a car for your travel and the transport of promotional materials;
  • You are bilingual (French and English), both orally and in writing;
  • You are dynamic, an excellent communicator, able to demonstrate autonomy, initiative and creativity;
  • You are available for a work schedule from Monday to Friday

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of operational aspects of traditional (stocks, bonds, money market, mutual funds) and non traditional (managed and fee based) products is an asset
  • Familiarity with technology applications and software used in the financial planning and investment industry.
  • Successful completion of both the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook exam will be required within 18 months from date of hire.
  • Successful completion of 30-day BMO NB Investment Representative Licensing Program.
