The Data Centre Technician (DCT) is the initial point of contact at the facility and is responsible for ensuring the data centre and building are maintained in a professional and secure manner. The DCT will be the first responder and primary point of contact for incidents in the data centre. This position reports to the Data Centre Manager. Edmonton has 2 Data Centres. What you'll be doing:
- Security, Ensuring the property is secure for tenants and clients, management of access cards, surveillance monitoring, investigation of problem situations.
- Daily Operations, Shipping/Receiving duties, site inspection/walk-throughs, and timely reporting of incidents outside of normal operating policy.
- Emergency Operations ; Primary point of contact/communications for staff, management, and emergency responders during a site incident.
- Administration, Shift change communications, documentation/reporting, maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Customer Service; Meet or exceed established Service Desk and/or individual goals of customer satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement; Identify and report to the Data Centre Manager any situation or concerns that would improve quality or mitigate risk.
What you will bring:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

At least 10 years of maintenance and industrial experience in oil and gas as a Journeyman Mechanic, Millwright, or equivalent, with a certificate in one of those disciplines or an equivalent field, an interprovincial Red Seal ticket, and a high school diploma or equivalent

Mechanical maintenance and construction experience to ensure equipment is installed and maintained according to the applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations, with the ability to simultaneously handle a variety of work tasks and priorities and make decisions and recommendations on technical issues

Experience with rigging equipment for equipment lifts on picker trucks and cranes and overhead building cranes, and with various mechanical tooling such as hydraulic and precision alignment tools
