In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and executing predictive and preventative maintenance programs, as well as performing repairs on instrument and electrical systems at our pipeline facilities. Your expertise will help ensure our operations run safely and efficiently.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years of post-Journeyperson maintenance experience with your completion of a registered apprenticeship program, with journeyperson red seal certification  
  • Five years of relevant maintenance experience in the maintenance of pipelines, oil and gas facilities, refineries, pulp and paper, mine process, or other related industries  
  • A valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrical Certificate and valid Oil Field Safety Certification; attach your Journeyperson / Oil Field Safety tickets with your application to be considered 
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)  
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and safely maintain pipeline facility sites with a focus on ensuring operating equipment is reliable and maintained to Suncor’s expectations  
  • Execute the preventative maintenance program as well as maintain and repair vital heat trace components  
  • Calibrate and maintain pressure, temperature, fire and gas, leak detection, flow switches transmitters and other monitoring equipment  
  • Inspect, maintain and calibrate a wide variety of pipeline equipment, such as: variable frequency drives (VFD’s), pumps, motors, flow computers, Coriolis meters and other related metering equipment 
  • Service pipeline facility motor actuated valves  
  • Exercise mature and independent judgment in daily activities associated with operations and oversee third party service contractors as required during pipeline repairs and construction projects  
  • Build positive relationships by working within diverse groups in a demonstrably efficient and flexible manner, while communicating effectively with all parties 
  • Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response  

 

Location & Other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Pipeline Field Office in Fort McMurray, Alberta  
  • The shift schedule is seven day on/ seven day off rotation
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You’ll need to be flexible to work overtime when required and able to work with minimal supervision

JOB SUMMARY

The Transit Facilities Maintenance Unit is responsible for the property management functions associated with the maintenance, operation and repair of all transit facilities.

Position Summary

Key Qualifications

 

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are obtained through completion of grade twelve (12) or equivalent coupled with courses related to facilities management. A Refrigeration Plant Operator’s Certificate and a Pool Operator’s Certificate are required. In addition, the successful candidate will have a minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of facility management experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory position and experience in the operation of major sport facilities. Supervisory training courses and a Fireman’s Certificate would be an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of facility operations and maintenance, including HVAC, mechanical systems, sound, alarms, emergency systems, artificial turf, pool filtration, ice maintenance, and sports field construction.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree completed, and/or equivalent work experience required; 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Maintenance/manufacturing unionized environment while managing a team
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement/High Volume Manufacturing;
  • Working knowledge of GMP’s, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and WHMIS;
  • Millwright or Electrical certification preferred;
  • Intermediate computer and database application skills such as SAP;
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems
  • Experience working in the Beverage and Food Manufacturing (asset).

How you will make contributions that matter:

Days (6:00am-2:00pm), Afternoons (2:00pm-10:00pm) Nights (10:00pm – 6:00am)

 

The Responsibilities: 

 

  • Complete preventative, corrective, and emergency work orders as required for all plant electrical equipment.
  • Perform electrical installations and modifications, including conduit bending, cable install, electrical equipment mounting, industrial automation system installation and lighting system repair and installation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC’s and Device Net.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, maintenance manuals, ladder diagrams, troubleshooting guides, PLC ladder and sequential function charts, control loop diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
  • Test, troubleshooting, adjust and repair analog components, digital and logic circuits, microprocessor controlled devices, programmable logic and automation controllers, electronic process measurement systems, and electronic controllers.
  • Effective and safe use of electrical test and recording equipment.
  • Communicate with other departments for their electrical needs.
  • Use SAP (Maintenance Management System) for creating, updating and closing work orders.
  • Generate accurate and effective maintenance records, status reports, and data and maintenance logs.  Effectively respond to oral and written requests.
  • Adhere to all electrical principles and methods, proper use of tools and equipment, and safety procedures.  This includes the safe and proper use of various hand and power tools, test meters and equipment.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.

 

TheOtherQualifications: 

 

  • Provincial TQ and Red Seal IP certification in electrical work required
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in FMCG industry preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance of high speed packaging lines / batch brewing equipment.
  • General PC troubleshooting and repair knowledge, including MS Windows software and common PC components.
  • Rockwell Automation hardware and software experience, including the PLC-5 and Logix PLC/PAC platforms is a strong asset.
  • General instrumentation knowledge and experience.
  • Batch processing experience, specifically in S88/S95 based batch control systems.
  • Arc-flash and shock hazard awareness and knowledge, an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in environment of constant changes and comfortable working in both cold and warm climates.
  • You are able to work rotating shifts (Day, Evening, Night and Weekends).
  • You have strong computer skills, including experience with SAP.
