RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform access control provision duties, verify visitors coming on-site.
• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
• Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
• Unlock and lock doors for access by authorized persons.
• Screen client employees and contractors with handheld wand metal detection devices.
• Be on call when a shift needs coverage sometimes on short notice.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
• Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities and perform dispatch duties for the site including emergency response.
• Perform foot patrols inside and outside the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• 3 years of security experience or 5 years of customer service experience with direct customer facing experience.
• Eligibility for reliability clearances required for data centre positions.

We are currently seeking a Full Time/Part time Security Guard to our existing security teams in Guelph,Ontario. As a security guard, you will support the client's security program by proactively exceeding their security goals and continuing to protect property and their employees.

Job Duties:

• Perform access control provision duties, verify visitors coming on-site and parking enforcement. Dispatch duties via radio communication accepting all radio calls.
• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
• Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
• Unlock and lock doors for access by authorized persons.
• Investigate incidents of trespassers along fence perimeters and property. Deter trespassers from the property.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.

• Perform foot patrols inside and outside the facility.

Job Description

Tasks & Responsibilities of this position include:

• All duties and responsibilities normally performed by site security personnel;
• Daily supervision of Security Personnel, oversee scheduling requirements, security assignments, incident reporting and patrols;
• Oversee and assist in monitoring all sensitive areas and controlled access points;
• Immediately respond and assist with security & life safety related requests made by customers, tenants and employees;
• Respond immediately to emergencies and co-ordinate activities in accordance with established and approved lawful policies and procedures;
• Ensure staff compliance with all log books, posted memos, brief books, written or verbal instructions and policies are read, initialed and understood by all staff;
• Complete daily supervisory inspections as detailed by the Security Manager;
• Oversee staff operation and compliance of department computer and technical equipment. Supervise the use of memo books, security uniforms and equipment. Monitor calls to dispatch and assist staff accordingly;
• Assist the Security Manager with training and development of Security Personnel;
• Ensure all Security reports are completed to site standards and filed appropriately;
• Provide feedback to improve the process in the protection of assets;
• Ensure that proper procedures are observed relative to reporting of liability claims and completion of occurrence reports;
• Maintain communications with retail tenants, local law enforcement agencies local fire prevention personnel and local emergency medical services personnel;
• Help implementation of emergency procedures, disaster recovery plans, building access control, security systems, reports and recommendations;
• Any other tasks as directed by the Security Manager and/or General Manager.

Skills & Experience Required:

The preferred candidates will possess:

• College diploma in Law Enforcement and/or Security Administration;
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in retail environment;
• Proven supervisory experience;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Be self-motivated, diplomatic and confident individual in order to deal with tenants and the public;
• Possess a valid Saskatchewan Drivers Licence;
• Familiar with applicable health & safety legislation (eg. WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety);
• Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED & Oxygen Administration;
• Must be able to provide Clear Criminal Background Certificate;
• Highly organized and able to prioritize workload;
• Able to work in a ‘Team’ environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Perform safety / Hazmat / accident / incident / near misses’ investigations timely, contributing factors identified, prepare reports and summaries for review by operational leadership/HR, and ensure any improvement plans identified, implemented

•    Adhere to related federal and provincial requirements, as well as submit all required regulatory filings (e.g., LAB reports, EAHOR) 

•    Review and analyze accident / incident and injury data and action planning to identify risks and put controls in place

•    Manage and follow up on all Riskmaster relating to Vehicle Accidents

•    In collaboration with stakeholders and utilizing QDM methodology, develop and implement a comprehensive and sustainable safety strategy and ensure annual reviews are completed to reduce accidents and injuries

•    Act as local contractor relations liaison by maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors

•    Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures and work practices to ensure OHSA and regulatory compliance as outlined by provincial and federal law for the transportation and trucking industry 

•    Manage all safety programs and initiatives (e.g., safety clock)

•    Administer and evaluate Safety audit procedures, provide improvement plans, program suggestions and implement changes to address/resolve identified trends and ensure OHSA and Regulatory compliance 

•    Partner with vendors at all levels to ensure compliance and educational guidelines are within scope of FXFC and the governing body’s regulatory requirements

•    Review all Health & Safety Committee meeting minutes for compliance and ensure all raised issues are addressed and closed in a timely manner 

•    Work with Learning & Development to ensure design and development of instructional and training programs for the safety of employees

•    Maintain safety resources library and record keeping systems (e.g., maintain H&S documentations; certifications)

•    Plan, organize and conduct safety meetings and awareness campaigns throughout the year to build safety culture for both contractors/vendors and employees

•    Participate actively in local, Provincial & National organizations and represent FXFC in a professional manner (e.g., TDC, NTDC, NAIC, CVSA) 

•    Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

Job Summary:

• Performs the surveillance necessary to ensure the safety of all aquatic centre users.

• Prevents accidents by enforcing health regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the aquatic centre.

• Teaches aquatic instructional programs outlined in the Sports Services curriculum.

• The lieutenant oversees the management of patrol vehicles, ensuring their proper functioning, regular maintenance, and availability for security missions.

• In the absence of the coordinator, he assumes their responsibilities, ensuring continuity of operations and effective management of tasks and ongoing emergencies.

• The lieutenant creates and maintains punch rounds, defining the routes and frequencies of checks to ensure adherence to security procedures.
