About This Opportunity

Responsibilities

- Clearly communicate findings with all interested parties, produce clear summaries of actions taken and provide recommendations for further investigation;
- Liaise with external investigative units as required in order to ensure a full investigation is conducted;
- Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group. Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives;
- Conducs independent analysis and assessment to resolve security issues;
- Respond to and assists in the management of crisis situations.
- Responds and provide support for urgent/emergency situations after normal business hours.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years experience in an investigative/analytical role either in law enforcement or another discipline that involves the investigation of casework and the assembly of information/ evidence to prove a case in court or justify a recommendation or other outcome;
- Bilingual in spoken and written English and French;
- Experience with implementation, operation and support of electronic access control and surveillance systems;
- Strong knowledge of investigative practices, methods and enforcement strategies;
- Familiar with the protocols for collecting, handling, and passing on evidence;

Provides guidance and advice to Project Managers for physical security related projects. These projects can include the updating of any security systems in the buildings and projects relating to the implementation of recommendations from the respective Threat and Risk Assessment for the building.
Provides guidance to internal facility and/or project management teams as required under the direction of the Regional Security Manager.
Assists in the implementation of cost saving initiatives and best practices.
Attends Building Security Committee Meetings.
Training & Awareness
Manages the NCR Security Awareness Program including for the BGIS Ottawa office. Activities include creating security awareness bulletins, conducting presentations to BGIS’ Operations and Project Management teams.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Diploma or equivalent in the Security Management field

- Full Security Guard recruitment process is approximately 10 weeks.
- The following steps are included in the Security Guard recruitment process. Candidates need to be successful at all these steps to be awarded a position:
- Initial application screening
- In-Person Hiring Event (IPHE) which includes:
- Written assessment
- Fitness assessment (Shuttle Run, Pass Level of 4.5)
- Reality-based Scenario assessment
- Circuit interview
- Screening Interview
- Applicants invited to the IPHE must attend in person. The assessments will take approximately 4 hours to complete
- Reference checks (3 Employment references - 1 must be current supervisor)
- Issuing Job Offer Letters
- Upon start date, candidates must successfully complete the 6-week full-time Foundational/In-field Training outlined below:
- Standard De-escalation and Use of Force Training
- First Aid and all other Mandatory Training
- In-field training
