What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:

  • Experience developing secure server side services leveraging the following APIs: Spring, Spring Batch/Boot, RESTful Webservices, Apache Data Utilities (JSON, Avro, CSV/PSV, Parquet), NoSQL/SQL databases and Struts 2.0
  • Good knowledge on messaging/streaming technologies (MQ, Kafka)
  • Hands-on experience in writing clean, readable/reusable java code with unit tests
  • Experience using Git and Maven while collaborating with the software development team

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engage with fellow Technology Partners to learn about other divisional initiatives, seeking opportunity to leverage them within your area.
  • Support existing technology solutions
  • Articulate and support the direction of technology innovations.
  • Facilitate the design, development, evaluation, and/or implementation of a technology or business solution by conducting needs assessments, develop requirements, analyze processes and data, contribute to creation of system designs, oversee development, coordinate implementation and required training.
  • Develop effective communication strategies between Technology and the business.

  • Leverage/build relationships with vendors and municipal networks to share City of Regina technology stories and learn about opportunities from industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of contemporary business technology solutions.

Education & Experience

  • Standardize operational planning & monitoring of the various services provided by Infrastructure Operations 
  • Lead the set up, management and close out of work orders for each operational season

  • Develop section level KPIs that align with Branch level KPIs

Qualifications
