Compensation:$43.86/ Hour Plus Premiums

Responsibilities

• Expected to quickly respond and diagnose problems in order to determine the best method of repair based on safety and production requirements by assessing failures and implementing alternative solutions to keep production/packaging lines running
• Work collaboratively with all operations during Autonomous Maintenance sessions and Breakdown Maintenance and when addressing reoccurring problems and other department maintenance requirements.
• Ensure Preventive Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance Inspection are completed and provide detailed follow-ups of future work needed.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and Department SME’s on projects, rebuilds, Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance Breakdown Maintenance and other jobs as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager

Shifts:The successful candidate must be available for 5x8 rotation.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating production-related equipment

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to lift weights in excess of 50 lbs
• The candidates should provide a congenial rapport with internal/external contacts
• The candidates should be able to work in a cold environment (up to -30F)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be a current licensed Industrial Millwright Mechanic in the Province of Ontario
• The candidates should have obtained an apprenticeship in Ontario
• The candidates should be willing/able to achieve a “B” Class Refrigeration Operator’s License as defined by the TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority) in the Province of Ontario within 24 months of filling the position
• The candidates should possess strong technical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• The candidates should possess good communication skills both verbal and written
• The candidates should have knowledge of computer systems such as PMC, Excel, Word, and SAP Maintenance
• The candidates should have a satisfactory work, safety, and attendance record

• The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance rebuilds and modifications as required on all equipment
• The candidates should be able to perform facilities maintenance
• The candidates should be able to identify potential problems throughout the facility and bring proactive solutions to the Maintenance Supervisor (or his/her designate)

Working within the UF6 production facility, the cell maintenance operator builds and repairs fluorine cells using various hand and power tools and recertifies UF6 cylinders in accordance with specifications and procedures.  

Work requirements include wearing SCBA and chemical PPE; working with HF, KOH & electrolyte; use of  pneumatic & hand tooling /pressure wash equipment and attention to detailed procedures and build specifications. This position will be a day shift or afternoon shift. 
 
Education and Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12
• Experience gained in maintenance and repair in an industrial setting 
• Mechanically inclined
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Proven critical thinking ability 
• Clear criminal record check
• Must be able to work afternoon shift (Monday - Friday)

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Be deeply involved in progressive, proactive maintenance routines, with a philosophy deeply rooted in a predictive approach. 
• Troubleshooting and execution of identified corrective maintenance requirements. 
• Carry out documented work requests and apply corrective action 
• Perform assigned work orders and account for inventory and labour on a computerized maintenance management system(SAP). 
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance routines and update maintenance records.
• Interpret electrical code specifications
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, variable frequency drives, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic/pneumatic electrical control systems
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic, ethernet and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Ensure all job-related operations follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and health & safety requirements. 
• Understand and adhere to all plant Food/Health and Safety Polices. 

What You’ll Bring:

• Red Seal Certification (Ontario Electrician license), with proven industrial field experience (3 years or greater preferred). 
• Knowledge of the design, techniques and tools applied in electronic and electrical applications, with experience in pneumatics and hydraulics.

• Extensive knowledge of plant and process equipment operations.

  • The use of testing equipment such as vibration analysis as well as other techniques used in predictive and preventive maintenance.
