The Cybersecurity Specialist role is pivotal in fortifying the organization's digital assets and information security by proactively monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents.

The Cybersecurity Specialist contributes to the development and enhancement of cybersecurity policies and procedures. This position focuses on staying ahead of evolving cyber threats to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems. Main Purpose & Function

Reporting to the Senior Fleet Engineer, the Business Analyst is responsible for senior analytical and business/systems consulting work, as well as managing technology projects for Fleet and Manufacturing Services. Support will include developing business cases as well as detailed cost/benefit and enterprise risk analyses. The Business Analyst will manage all phases of the projects including planning, execution, control and closeout, and is responsible for a timely delivery of the projects within budget and to a high level of quality.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Senior level Business Analyst:

• Leading strategic planning of technology needs, future direction and deployment for Fleet and Manufacturing Services. This may include working with departmental business groups to identify business requirements, and with IT groups to identify technology requirements; participating in or conducting meetings as required. 

• Conducting business process analysis (using Lean/ Six Sigma or similar methodologies) to conduct value stream mapping, analyze business requirements, identify relevant KPIs, complete current state analysis, develop future state recommendations and build an implementation plan.
• Creating and presenting project and business level reports or topics to project team members, project stakeholders and senior executives, including creating and distributing communications materials.

Project Management:

• Responsibility will cover all aspects of project delivery from planning out the projects in detail, clearly identifying project scope, budget and schedule as well as project risks, project organization and the project management approach.
• Participating in confidential planning that may have City-wide operational and financial implications, developing and making recommendations that may result in the re-assignment of responsibilities between staff or organizational units within the City, and in the reduction of or increase to staff complement.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Provides Account Operations & Systems support to BGIS Clients and Client Account Team Members

Reporting to the Manager Integrated Technology Systems (ITS), the Business Analyst SWM assumes responsibility for the timely completion of both one-time projects and recurring assignments on behalf of Solid Waste.

Major Responsibilities:

• Facilitates and supports strategic and long term I&T business planning activities.
• Conducts studies on the feasibility of integrating processes to deliver a range of services to a specific client or to a geographic location.
• Documents and analyzes business processes, input costs and output level, and conducts data flow analysis and business process design modelling and/or re-engineering.
• Prepares reports to management, supporting recommendations on changes in business methods and processes including appropriate staffing levels, resource allocation, etc.
• Develops test strategies, plans, scripts, data, executes tests and documents test results.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Under limited guidance the Software Developer II (IS) will be responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing and documenting software solutions/applications that will contribute to CP's ability to achieve it's organizational goals.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Executes ITIL procedures in the area of Problem Management; Change Management and Incident Management with minimal supervision
• Utilize their technology background to help meet departmental service level objectives while demonstrating proficiency in providing user support by responding to customer calls and correspondence to ensure customers are well satisfied.
• Use established analytical skills, assists in troubleshooting and examining systems to identify technical issues and guide to root cause.
• Demonstrate ability to document results of analysis completed using various methods, for example; flowchart; business process designs; system documentation and technical specifications
• Develop, test, document and deliver requested functionality or changes/enhancements to new or existing applications as per agreed upon business requirements and specifications
• Demonstrates established analysis and critical thinking skills in isolating and debugging software problems, able to analyze impacts of change or impact within their given area of expertise
• Improves current operating systems by studying practices, procedures, and problems; identifying problems, designing modifications and improvements
• Learn how to incorporate operational efficiency and safety to software solutions and business applications
• Participate in 24*7 rotational on call support

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience working on Red Hat Linux OS
• 3+ years  of experience with one or more programming languages/technologies such as Java, Python, .NET, C, C++, C#, Ruby, Bash Scripts
• 1 + years of experience collaborating with peers, superiors and members of cross functional teams
• Knowledge of messaging/message oriented middleware system is an asset
• Knowledge on one or more version control system like Git is an asset
• Knowledge of Elastic Search Platform is an asset
• Knowledge of one or more relational and no SQL databases and query languages is an asset
