The Feed Truck Driver is responsible for the efficient delivery of feed products while providing courteous, quality-conscious customer service as set out by Maple Leaf Agri-Farms company guidelines.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides quality customer service
• Delivers loads of feed as assigned by dispatcher
• Performs daily pre-trip, and weekly truck/trailer inspections
• Reports and discusses truck/trailer maintenance concerns with supervisor
• Maintains log book as required
• Keeps tractor/trailer unit clean and well organized, both inside and out, notwithstanding inclement weather conditions and the demand for on-time feed delivery
• Performs all paperwork according to business requirements
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from +40 to -40 degrees Celsius

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class 1A Driver’s License with favorable Driver’s Abstract
• 3-5 years of experience driving truck/trailer unit
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The Planner ensures timely and efficient movement of trucks and freight within a designated region to maximize efficiencies while minimizing empty miles and wait times. 

How You’ll Help

• Identify required loads two to three days out and organize for greatest efficiency
• Assign and line up loads and deliveries based on efficiency and information from Fleet Specialists
• Monitor scheduled runs to ensure they are on schedule and advise Fleet Specialists, Customer Service, and/or Planner in next region of any changes
• Promote driver friendly atmosphere on and off the road
• Investigate and address repeat late deliveries, load refusals, and non-compliance with SOPs
• Manage Brokers and driver time off, updating time away and time ready in the system
• Working closely with the safety team on driver training and safety related concerns as identified
• Manage / support compliance with random drug tests monthly
• Complete Broker pay sheets
• Work with brokers on statement issues, missed payments and related concerns.
• Work with drivers in regards to payment concerns or disputes on irregular duties such as working time or customer detention.
• Liaison between driver and/or broker with Safety, Compliance, Recruiting and operations departments as needed
• Other related duties as may be assigned.

Your Skills & Experience: 

• Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education in logistics or business administration
• A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered 
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a time sensitive, planning and organizing role, preferable in the transportation industry
• Experience using MS Outlook, Excel & Word; must possess the aptitude for learning new programs
• Strong customer service focus, relationship building skills
• Good communication skills including the ability to relay information (verbal and written) between several parties and deliver a positive customer experience
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills, the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements, execute and escalate accordingly
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced  deadline-driven setting
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment; appropriate sense of urgency

The Services Delivery Manager is accountable for day-to-day operations, vendor management and service management for the client(s) they support, as well as, data verification, reporting and analysis; and assists in the review, development and implementation of related processes and initiatives.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership 

Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to: 

• Full involvement with recruiting talent. 
• Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members. 
• Objectively recommends compensation adjustments. 
• Manages all aspects of performance. 

Facility Management

• Generate and dispatch service request work orders to vendors as per established process. 
• Review Priority works orders – communicate and follow up on priority orders to vendors and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner to meet KPI requirements.
• Review Work Orders – ensure that all work orders dispatched to the FM are closed out or reassigned to technician or vendor.
• Perform inspection of work orders closed by vendors and ensure complete/accurate closeout details are provided (e.g. cost, work completed, equipment tag #).
• Run report on open work orders and checks status with the appropriate vendors.
• Update WO statuses if verified to be completed or resolved during follow up. 
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding workorder related issues.
• Respond to Client inquiries regarding current or past workorders (Status of the work, Issues/warranty, escalations).
• Correcting information in the system, addresses, phone numbers.
• Adding new vendors and locations to the system.

Finance

• Review and resolve invoice referrals/escalations.
• Review and resolve invoicing errors.
• Review and approve billing for tech services.
• Review and approval of invoices for payment (Oracle).
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoicing-related matters.

Client / Service Management 

• Make and receive calls/emails from the vendors and clients for follow ups on workorder status, creation or cancellation. 
• Act as main point of contact, between the client and all other parties, technicians that reach out for approvals, questions and issues, vendors that need further information or approvals.
• Primary escalation point for taking care of any issues regarding service.
• Involvement in specific Emergency workorders may need to be managed from start to end.
• Requesting approvals from the client.
• Review of PM workorders and following up with vendors as needed.
• Participating and gathering information for QBR's.
  • Client reporting needs as required.

Reporting 

Quality Compliance 

• Execute quality & compliance team activities that support the quality compliance contractual obligations. 
• Interface with BGIS management and client management to identify applicable regulatory and compliance requirements and ensure accurate understanding of those requirements between BGIS and the client. 
• With guidance, assist in the review of related processes by conducting compliance process capability studies to identify, improve and correct process inefficiencies and inaccuracies; review process documentations and speak with relevant concerned parties to understand and identify process improvement opportunities. 
• Provide input for planning, development, execution and improvement of compliance-related processes and programs. 
• Assist in the implementation of compliance-related processes through activities such as coordination of process implementation with relevant concerned parties, process documentation, providing contents to presentations, etc.
• Identify any quality, compliance and contractual issues and communicate them to the appropriate BGIS and customer management teams. Work with those teams to resolve any identified issues. 
• Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Facility Management or Vendor Management.

To ensure timely delivery of packages to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, load/unload vehicle and provide exceptional customer service to our client base.

Performance Expectations

Plan and direct highway and/or local drivers on daily freight pick-up and deliveries

Pre-plan driver’s trip itineraries and communicate those with all drivers

Track equipment, freight, and drivers through use of satellite and/or two-way radio

Communicate and direct customer service on issues and information that need to be communicated to customers, such as freight delivery delays and billing issues

Collect, sort, and distribute all driver trip envelopes

Ensure that all driver trip envelops are complete and accurate

Ensure that all customer needs and freight requirements are met through instructions and trip planning of the drivers

Prioritize loads and customers to accommodate changes and problems as they arise

 

Credentials

Completion of Secondary school diploma
