What you'll do

Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely to patients

Ensure medication and over the counter supplements inventory levels is adequate to meet patients’ needs

Counsel of patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and pro-active interaction

Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.)

Administer Vaccinations and other activities as legislated by the Pharmacist Scope of Practice Program (Point-of-Care testing, Prescription Modification and Advancement, Minor Ailments, etc.)

Provide Pharmaceutical Professional Services such as Medication Reviews

Provide timely and positive resolution to patient’s needs and Doctor’s requests/issues

Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary)

Provide on-going training for all new and existing Pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, assistants, students, IPG’s)
What you’ll need:

Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy, and a Class A Pharmacist, Ontario

Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism

Job Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with accepted safety standards and applicable laws.
- Implement, coordinate & maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certification.
- Develop, implement, enforce & maintain HSE programs, policies, work instructions and procedures considering EHS legislation and corporate policy.
- Manage the Joint Health Safety & Environmental Committee, inspections, action plans and meetings.
- Perform environmental and Health & Safety training for all levels of the division, including orientation to new employees.
- Coordinate required inspections & audits; champion internal auditing (ISO 14001/ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).
- Ensure the yearly NPRI, O.REG. 127-01 and AWS/ESDM reporting documents are complete and ensure submission in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance to employees on Behaviour Based Safety Program.
- Coordinate all annually required testing and monitoring such as storm, sanitary testing, hygiene assessments, waste audits, etc.
- Improve and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental standards to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Environmental Protection Act and MSM’s policies.
- Review all accident, incident and near miss investigation reports and make suggestions to prevent recurrence. Aid in the development of corrective actions.
- Submit claims to WSIB and manage modified work program.
- Monitor new and revised legislation and remain current with the latest safety requirements.
- Maintain WHMIS compliance at the Division.
- Provide the Ministry of Labour with documentation at their request, and accompany them on any plant audits.
- Ensure compliance with the OH&SA in the approval process for new equipment, and existing equipment modifications based on priority scheduling (LOTO, PSHSR, etc).
- Coordinate activity on ergonomics, 5S and 3R’s Program.
- Maintain records of third party contracts relevant to health, safety and environmental issues and legislation.
- Manage liquid and solid waste disposal, follow up on trends to reduce waste and ensure compliance.
- Facilitate and actively participate in the monthly meetings.
- Continuous improvement responsibilities to enhance the HS/E management program.
- Annually test and update where required the spill and evacuation procedures.
- Prepare audit findings and distribute accordingly.
- Coordinate and administrate hearing tests and pre- placement medical examinations as required.
- Support department with Sustainability and Energy projects.
General Responsibilities

Health and Safety Responsibilities

Administrative duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the administration of WSIB and RTW Program. Follow ups with sick/injured employee and document RTW Plan.

- Ensure that all Health & Safety records are kept in an organized manner for quick and efficient access, as per BMS and general record requirements

Desired education and skills

- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific or engineering field or equivalent.
- Completion of Canadian Registered Safety Professional (C.R.S.P.) designation or actively working towards the designation.
Desired Characteristics.
- Ability to communicate with external and internal stakeholders. For example, communicate with members of the medical community to gain insight into evolving ways to modify work environments to meet the needs of disabled employees. Use this information to analyze programs in effect in the workplace and provide input to policy development regarding the accommodation of disabled employees' needs.
- Extensive knowledge and application of environmental health and safety legislation and industry standards. Ability to review a variety of sources such as legislation on health and safety standards to become informed of the scope of employee relations cases.
- Develop cost-benefit analyses for a wide range of programs, such as health and safety training programs, to present the company with significant input to long-range human resource planning.
- Ability to work independently to conduct research and develop policy papers and reports. Work as a team member in both internal and external working groups. Work with industry-wide professional organizations, boards and colleagues both inside and outside of their organization.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is an asset.
- Undertake continuous learning through courses, such as community college and university courses, through on-the-job initiatives and highly developed networking and professional liaison. Attend conferences and seminars and read professional journals to learn about best practices and emerging trends in health and safety as needed.
