SECURITY GUARD – SPECIAL EVENT

Location: VARIOUS LOCATIONS-CANMORE, BANFF AND KANANASKIS AREA.

• Must be availability JUNE 12 to JUNE 17, 2025.
• The shifts are from 0630 to 1830 and 1430 to 0230, 12 hours shifts. 
• MUST have valid driver’s license. 
• $19.00 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Event Security Guard Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Observes and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property its assets and personnel.
• Must be able to write an effective incident report and ensure all the facts are captured.
• Must be able to communicate effective in English both Verbally and in Writing
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
• Must be able to patrol and act accordingly with various types of incidents/disturbances.
• Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client property and assets.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must have a valid Alberta Security License
• Must have driver’s license. 
• Security Experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Must have great verbal and written communication skills. 
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.

We are seeking an experienced security guard for a part-time permanent position at our client's data centre location in North York, ON. We are looking for individuals with a high level of customer service and security experience. Priority to those with a strong customer service background.

Position Overview:

Wages: $25.00/hr

Shifts: Saturday and Sunday 7AM-3PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The functions listed describe the business purpose of this job. Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. • The primary function of the screening guard is to ensure that only authorized equipment is allowed to enter or leave secure production areas in order to protect the data maintained inside. The screening guard reports to the assigned Shift Security Supervisor.
• Read, understand, and apply the latest version of the Security Operation Procedures (SOP), and other bulletins and communications with regards to the roles and responsibilities.
• Write, review and document Shift Activity Report (SAR).
• Conducts screening of all personnel entering or exiting a secure production area.
• Ensure compliance with all required screening procedures and policies.
• Identifies prohibited items and prevents them from being introduced or removed from a secure production area. 
• Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Security Supervisor.
• Inquire with persons being screened for feedback on the screening process.
• Perform function checks on walk through metal detector (WTMD) and handheld metal detector (HHMD) at the beginning of each shift.
• Maintain Screening Checkpoints in accordance with the Screening SOP.
• Ensure proper screening procedures and techniques are utilized as per the Screening SOP.
• Interact effectively across diverse cultures.
• Monitor traffic flow of checkpoints and recommend staffing adjustments as necessary.
• Follow proper chain of command and procedures for all matters which require escalation.
• Escalate issue and/or violations to the Shift Security Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• 3 years of security experience or a combination of security and customer service experience.
• Eligibility for reliability clearances required.

• Full class 5 driver’s license 
• Flexible open working schedule
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.

• Reliable means of transportation
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
• Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.

We are looking for an OHS worker to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on site. He will ensure that contractors comply with site regulations during the execution of their work.
Having knowledge of health and safety is an asset for the position. Specific training will be provided on site. His main role will be to be informed of current and upcoming work, welcome the various contractors, supervise compliance with health and safety regulations during the execution of the work. Notify in the event of non-compliance, report relevant information to the immediate superior in detail. Documentation, analysis, research, inspection, etc. He will also be called upon to respond to various emergency calls for fire/medical/spill/dangerous situations (emergency measures training offered on site).

• Friday (4am), Saturday (12pm, 6am-6pm), Sunday (12pm, 6am-6pm) and Monday (4am)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with contractors; 
• Valid first aid certificate: CPR CNESST (must have or must pass);
• ASP construction (must have or must pass);
• Knowledge of operations and safety procedures;
• Strict compliance with instructions and protocols;
• Firmness with clear and respectful speech;
• Good knowledge of Office suite software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and general computer skills;
• Autonomous, resourceful and diligent; 
• Valid security agent license (BSP) is an asset.
