RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages Field Supervisors in the Ottawa office; ensures that personnel deliver high quality service.

JOB SUMMARY

JOB SUMMARY

The Design and Construction Facilities Branch is responsible for  architecture, engineering and landscape architecture services, design and construction management, and other related technical and professional services. 

You are responsible for managing total project delivery for assigned multi-year, multi-discipline construction and renovation projects of a moderate complexity, for municipal building and/or landscape architecture projects.

  • managing project delivery for assigned capital works or renewal projects, including new parks and open space developments, as well as major park renovations and other related municipal facilities.

 

You shall have a good working understanding of all construction industries,
including engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural practices.

Reporting to the General Manager, Land Systems, this role is responsible to manage the relationship and delivery of our key partners and subcontractors in critical customer programs, driving improved performance, ensuring schedules and cost estimates are adhered to.

 

Your responsibilities in this role:

  • Participate in the development phase of the program; liaise between the Engineering team and suppliers to enable manufacturing to cost targets.
  • Act as a commodity manager for the project specific requirements working with the global category management team.
  • Develop and manage the relationships with our key subcontractors and partners on a critical customer programs and North American specific project requirements.
  • Interface with global Marshall organization: commodity managers, strategic procurement team lead, Procurement Project Management, and the Supply-chain Managers to coordinate program needs from creation of RFP through contract negotiation and award, execution, delivery acceptance and contract close – this also includes any commercial amendments that need to be conducted through the project lifetime.
  • Apply, follow, and monitor compliance to the global sourcing and procurement processes defined by Marshall.
  • Monitor and manage the subcontractor delivery in line with the program schedule, this includes ensuring key milestones, both from a quality and time perspectives are met.
  • Monitor and mitigate cost increases linked to program changes.
  • Support in the creation, development and updating of supplier strategies aligned to the wider Procurement, Program and Business strategies and partnership principles.
  • Set good standard and practices to maximize supplier delivery and quality performance through appropriate communication channels.
  • Manage risks and opportunities associated with each of their respective suppliers across the region.
  • Develop the supplier base through clear improvement plans. Ensure appropriate governance is in place to review progress and manage the contractual relationship.
  • Provide business with insights regarding opportunities for the project to be more profitable or competitive, including make versus buy proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Global Head of Supply Chain.

The Office of the City Solicitor provides a comprehensive and complex range of legal services to elected officials, all City of Ottawa departments, and various boards and commissions (i.e. Ottawa Police Services Board, Ottawa Community Land Development Corporation and the Ottawa Public Library), in the areas of civil litigation, labour and employment law, prosecutions, and corporate, municipal, planning, development, environmental, and commercial law.  

You are accountable for providing vision, leadership and strategic direction to Office of the City Solicitor team, and planning, organizing, directing, controlling, evaluating and improving the development and delivery of its priorities, services, programs and operations. Your decisions impact how Office of the City Solicitor will achieve the City’s strategic and long-term goals and objectives as determined by City Council and senior management, and short and long-term goals of other Departments that involve the provision of legal services.

  • Legal advice to Council, Committees and Departments through the preparation of legal opinions and support on such diverse matters as planning and real estate, tendering and procurement, public health, transportation and transit, environmental issues, housing matters, cultural and recreational services, access to information and protection of privacy, and municipal taxation and assessment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Minimum of 10 years of related experience in the practice of law with emphasis on municipal law, including a minimum of 5 years managing human resources, external contract resources, operating and capital budgets in a complex public organization or private sector corporation

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Licensed by Law Society of Ontario and called to the Bar of Ontario

About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Manager, Special Authorization to join our dynamic Plasma Protein and Related Products Formulary Program (PPRP) team in our Medical Affairs and Innovation division.

 

The PPRP Formulary Program team is responsible for leading Canadian Blood Services’ formulary management processes on behalf of Provinces and Territories in order to meet patients’ needs.

 

In this role, you will provide input and make recommendations that inform decisions and practices for the PPRP formulary program. Fostering and maintaining strong professional relationships with key stakeholders and having the ability to communicate effectively and assertively in order to leverage opportunities to exchange information and coordinate activities with stakeholders at various levels are key components of this role. You will lead and oversee the special authorization adjudication process by developing land supporting optimal approaches for delivering services related to special authorization requests and formulary management. You will require expert knowledge on PPRP and the application of evidence-based medicine in order to effectively provide clinical expertise.

 

Formula for success

• Leveraging your knowledge and experience as a first-line adjudicator, you will provide advice to the PPRP Therapeutics Committee on the creation of new criteria, on their usability and relevance.

• Utilizing your proven customer relationship management skills, you will maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.

• Focusing on your continuous growth mindset and strong business acumen, you will provide recommendations for formulary enhancements, improved control, and cost management for existing programs, assist in the ongoing management of the formulary including providing updates in benefit status and associate criteria.

• Drawing on your proven capabilities in leading initiatives, you will review clinicians’ requests and determine if they meet the criteria established by the PPRP Therapeutics Committee and when needed consult with scientific and medical community and other sources of product information to inform decisions on special requests.

• Concentrating on your strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will support leads in the preparation of all required committee materials, e.g., briefing notes, presentation content, and follow-up on open action items.

• Using your excellent planning and organizational skills, you will analyze issues and opportunities, prepare supporting documentation, such a white papers, environmental scans, proposals, and business cases to outline options and recommendations, ensure varying opinions are included in assessments.

 

Desired education and skills

• Completion of a university degree in Pharmacy, Pharm.D will be strongly preferred.

• Licensed as a registered Pharmacist will be considered a requirement.

• Seven to ten years of progressive experience in a clinical position including the management of a formulary program; management, planning, strategy formulation and execution.

• You will be required to have a minimum of 5 years of health system pharmacist experience.

• Experience in a clinical area; drug information, hematology, others. • Specific experience in strategy and financial analysis will be considered an asset.
