The P&D Supervisor will be will be responsible for all scheduling of the day to day operations of the Pick & Delivery operation while maintaining a high level of service to our customers.
How You’ll Help
- Ensure that all deliveries and pick ups are completed on time. Also monitor and control equipment maintenance, ensuring vehicles are maintained and meet legal requirements to operate.
- Ensure that brokers/drivers keep the equipment in a neat and tidy manner, adhering to Company policy.
- Monitor brokers/drivers hours, ensuring they are within legal limits.

- Plan routes for deliveries and pick ups, ensuring adequate equipment/staff are available.

- Provide training to support individual roles, and to expand skills which move employee engagement in the growth of the business.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees. Establishes individual objectives, conducts performance appraisal reviews, recommends salary action, and implements succession planning. Oversees and manages professional development to support leadership development program.
- Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective peers, managers and clients.
- Open availability and flexibility to work evening, weekends, and holidays
Your Skills & Experience:
- University degree in Business or an equivalent combination of work and educational experience.
- 2 years leadership/supervisor experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working within the transportation industry, ideally within a P&D environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills working with diverse set of stakeholders
- Strong problem solving skills are a must. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills are required.

Your Skills and Experience:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in operations, logistics, or business
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Minimum of five years' experience in the transportation industry or warehousing industry, preferably dock operations
- Previous leadership experience and/or experience in the transportation industry are strong assets
- Strong leadership skills specifically the ability to motivate and drive engagement to achieve objectives, facilitate conflict resolution, and to provide training
- Advanced communication skills, particularly verbal
- Computer skills, including the use of MS Word, Excel & Outlook, and web-based programs as well as RF scanners. Experience using AS400, a strong asset

Academic/Educational Requirements

Required Skills/Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in materials management, procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing materials management functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and procurement processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain management software.

The position will represent Linamar as the Corporate Delivery Champion responsible for leading and improving the delivery performance and MMOG/LE standards for all Linamar manufacturing and ship sites. Oversee and manage the Linamar Cycle Count program, identify, develop and cascade Materials Management best practices and focus on cost reduction opportunities, improving non-cash working capital and waste elimination.
Responsibility
- Eliminate waste, improve customer delivery performance, implement cost savings, optimize inventory turnover and improve non-cash working capital within the corporation.
- Monitor, manage, audit and train on the Linamar Cycle Count Program for all facilities globally.
- Study, focus and improve on organizational processes that impact Linamar performance in all categories of Stepping Stool (Customer, Employee and Financial).
- Represent the Materials Management perspective by collaborating on or leading various teams and projects.
- Perform internal MMOG/LE audits as required at Linamar facilities and Standardize MP&L delivery process and procedures across all manufacturing and ship sites in alignment with MMOG, as applicable.
- Identify and develop Materials Management best practices, cascade, teach and train to Linamar facilities.
- Support the Corporate Purchasing Team and Linamar facilities with supply chain related issues as needed.
- Assist with onboarding new employees in the Materials Management area and supporting facilities in a Materials Management role when required.

- Cascade, teach and train site stakeholders of all customer supply chain management requirements.

Academic/Educational Requirements
Post secondary education in business administration, commerce, economics, material management or related field experience.
Required Skills/Experience
Minimum of five years experience in a related field.
Possess excellent communication skills to interact with different departments, internal facilities, customers and suppliers.
Flexible and adaptable.
Able to problem solve and troubleshoot in a fast paced and demanding environment.
Works will independently and in a team environment.
Working knowledge of all applicable software (MS Office, PowerBI, ERT Systems, IFS an asset).
