Overview of the role :
Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Technician is integral to the laboratory team. This position is responsible for performing precise laboratory analysis, reporting, and monitoring of the quality of raw and finished products, raw ingredients, and sanitation system. This is a full-time, holiday relief temporary position.
Schedule: Shift rotation holiday relief, 36 hours per week. Day, afternoon and night - 9 hour shifts.

How you will make contributions that matter:

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a recognized certification program in building services work and some related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of materials, tools, methods, safety practices and equipment used in janitorial and maintenance work
- Ability to arrange an effective work schedule under minimum direct instruction

There are three positions available (2 Heavy-Duty Mechanic and 1 Commercial Transport Mechanic). The regular work schedule is from 3:10 PM to 12:34 AM, Monday to Friday. The successful candidates may be required to adjust shifts and locations as operationally required.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Certificate of Qualifications (T.Q.), Inter-Provincial Red Seal Endorsement
- Red Seal certification is preferred.
- Completion of Grade 10, supplemented by technical courses related to the work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of the standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the automotive and heavy-duty mechanical trade.
- Thorough knowledge of braking systems.
- Considerable knowledge of the hazards and proper safety precautions of the trade.

- Completion of a recognized certification program in building services work and some related experience
- Experience performing a variety of routine manual tasks in care, cleaning and general maintenance of buildings
- Experience operating and using janitorial tools, equipment and supplies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of materials, tools, methods, safety practices and equipment used in janitorial and maintenance work
- Ability to arrange an effective work schedule under minimum direct instruction
- Good health and strength sufficient to perform a variety of routine manual tasks in care, cleaning and general maintenance of buildings
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations and understanding of utilizing WHMIS – MSDS
- Knowledge of qualities and uses of various cleaning, sanitizing, stripping and waxing compounds
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and correct applications
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort
- Ability to explain and demonstrate instructions and guidelines to others effectively
Driving and Record Checks
- A current and valid BC Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record, where applicable

About This Opportunity
Fleet Mechanics perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles according to DOT and OSHA regulations, with a specific focus on medium and heavy duty, diesel tractor and trailer maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on all types of vehicles
- Perform preventative maintenance within fleet department
- Perform preventative maintenance in fleet
- Respond to service calls
- Maintain tools and area of work in an organized fashion
- Pick up and deliver vehicles if required
- Participate in and adhere to the required safety training.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 year’s work experience.
- Previous experience as a mechanic with light and heavy equipment required.
- 3+ years journeyman mechanic experience preferred.
- Experience repairing and diagnosing gasoline, diesel, and propane engines, automotive electrical systems and material handling equipment preferred
- Successful applicant will be required to have a Class 1 Driver’s license or be suitable for Class 1 training
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- May be required to supply automotive hand toole (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)
