About this opportunity:
Cenovus is looking for a Maintenance Technician, Millwright. The primary function of this trades position is to provide millwright service to the Lloydminster Thermal Assets with support to the Conventional Heavy Oil as needed. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all work under your control is performed in a timely, safe, and effective manner consistent with corporate and site-specific policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will be required to work off a developed maintenance schedule but will also be required to work on priority work depending on plant needs at that time. You will be required provide leads/planners updates on jobs statutes as needed. Support planners on job package development as needed.

This position is in the Lloydminster region and requires the successful candidate to live in the area

This is a full-time employee position Monday - Friday, 8 hour-days with occasional OT on an as needed basis as well as a defined on-call rotation
What you’ll do:

Complete repairs on various equipment within the Lloydminster Thermal facilities such as but not limited to, centrifugal pumps, chemical pumps, progressive cavity pumps, positive displacement reciprocating pumps and air compressors. Will support the Lloydminster Conventional Heavy Oil as necessary

Perform preventative maintenance and inspections

Maintains equipment history records using computer systems (SAP)

General trade knowledge in mechanical seals, alignment, various styles of pumps, compressors, couplings, bearings and lubrication

Who you are:

Minimum of 6 years of maintenance and industrial experience in oil and gas or relevant industry

Minimum of 2 years working as a Red Seal Journeyman Mechanic, Millwright, Heavy duty technician or equivalent

Working knowledge of SAP or CMMS considered an asset

What you’ll do:

Work closely with Maintenance Trades Leads to develop and revise maintenance procedures and with the Maintenance Scheduler to ensure that the daily schedule is maintained and updated

Support operators to ensure safeguards are in place and functioning, and that you are knowledgeable on emergency shutdown systems, emergency response plans, and the operability of safety devices

Provide on-site supervision and mentoring to service providers and less expert Mechanics, perform facility and field inspections, complete site observations, and report any deficiencies

Provide technical support and assistance to support Maintenance and Reliability, including adhering to standard methodologies, participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis of equipment failures, and supporting continuous improvement and cost reduction

Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

At least 10 years of maintenance and industrial experience in oil and gas as a Journeyman Mechanic, Millwright, or equivalent, with a certificate in one of those disciplines or an equivalent field, an interprovincial Red Seal ticket, and a high school diploma or equivalent

Mechanical maintenance and construction experience to ensure equipment is installed and maintained according to the applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations, with the ability to simultaneously handle a variety of work tasks and priorities and make decisions and recommendations on technical issues

Experience with rigging equipment for equipment lifts on picker trucks and cranes and overhead building cranes, and with various mechanical tooling such as hydraulic and precision alignment tools
-
Knowledge in Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process piping and Pressure Safety Devices (PSV), and experience with rotating and stationary equipment condition supervising such as oil sampling, airborne ultrasound, infrared thermography, and vibration analysis

Keen safety awareness and knowledge of safe work procedures, and experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP or Maximo

We have a permanent Journeyman Millwright role for our Packaging facility in Edmonton. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the packaging facility with emphasis on safety, productivity, quality, cost control, environmental compliance and positive inter-departmental relations.
Hourly rate: 43/hr to 46/hr
Core Functions:
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment
- Troubleshooting the following packaging and process equipment: conveyor systems, rotary filling equipment, automated boxing equipment, heat exchangers, palletizing etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance and regular Work Orders and account for inventory and labor
- Adhere to Bunge’s policies, safety procedures and with provincial codes and regulations
- Fulfill all Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHIMS, MSDS and SQF and Company policy requirements
- Contribute to the overall plant safety by participating in plant safety training and hazard detectio
- Be able to read and understand mechanical drawings/schematics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Must have a valid Provincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate, or a recognized interprovincial equivalent coupled with a minimum of two years’ experience
- Experience in food manufacturing maintenance would be considered an asset.
- Ammonia refrigeration/boiler experience is an asset
- Knowledge and experience with PLC controls and programming systems. Allen Bradley an asset
- Demonstrated success in the application of safety standards, compliance with safety regulations, and the promotion of a safe working environment
- Tig welding and milling is an asset
- Superior verbal, written and listening skills
- Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor
- Candidates must be strong, independent individual while possessing the ability to function within a highly integrated team environment
This position is an afternoon shift on Monday to Friday from 3pm-11:30pm only.
