Cenovus is currently looking for a Financial Analyst based in our Lloydminster Office.

 

The Financial Analyst is responsible for month-end accounting activities (including entries, reconciliations, financial reporting and detailed variance analyses and reporting) as well as monthly forecasting and coordination of long-range planning for the Canadian Downstream asset(s). As a strong business partner, they will collect and interpret results for performance reporting and develop qualitative explanations for discussion and decision making. They will support the business unit in tracking planned and unplanned costs with variance analysis, while stewarding to plan.

What you’ll do:

  • The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the financial support of the Canadian Downstream asset(s) in performing monthly analytical and accounting functions, ensuring business controls are operating effectively, contributing to business unit and corporate initiatives, and functioning as a liaison on corporate processes with a variety of groups.

  • Creation of the long-range plan and monthly forecasting

  • Works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Commercial and Optimization teams to understand business decisions impacting operations/results

  • Provide assurance that business unit financial statements align with business activities and are in accordance with accounting policies (IFRS & Sarbanes Oxley)

  • Support the business in identifying and managing operational risk within the scope of Downstream accounting

 

Who you are:

 

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Bachelor Degree with a specialization in Accounting/Finance is required

  • Minimum 5 years of financial analysis experience is required

  • Certified Professional Accounting designation (CMA, CA, CGA, CPA) is preferred

  • Power BI Reporting Superuser would be an asset

  • Strong knowledge of SAP and/or other reporting systems

About this opportunity:

The Maintenance Technician, Electrical Utilities is fundamental in providing safety leadership and nurturing a safety minded culture. Leading the execution of all maintenance activities on the Christina Lake high voltage system, the successful candidate will facilitate and maintain 24/7 on call coverage for high voltage emergencies and be the designated operating authority in charge of system operations.

  • This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 12hrs per day, 8 days on, 6 days off. Wednesday to Wednesday.

  • Christina Lake has full-service camp facilities.

  • Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations.

  • Christina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. and Lac La Biche, AB

 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide on-call and after hours support for operations and maintenance activities and upsets

  • Supervise and implement activities that are vital to making repairs, replacing, adjusting, and modifying equipment

  • Use troubleshooting skills and our current CMMS system to address equipment failures and other found work

  • Provide technical support for personnel when interpreting job plans, as-built drawings, and single line diagrams

  • Contribute to the development of job plans, estimates and scheduling of trade work activities

  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure effective utilization of warehouse inventory

  • Provide support for drilling and completions by supplying “high line” power connections and disconnect as required, serving as the primary point of contact for on-site trades and contract personnel, regarding ongoing and scheduled high voltage tasks

 

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Power system electrician, Journeyman certification or Power system technician with a journeyman certification (Electrical)

  • Minimum 6 years of related experience

  • Experience with microprocessing relays - SEL, Schweitzer, Ion Meters, Multilins, Substation, utility, power generation and MCC experience. Servicing/ maintaining transformers, circuit breakers and motor control systems

  • Experience with microprocessing relays

The communications advisor will work as a member of the Media and Issues Management team to protect and enhance Cenovus’s reputation externally, provide strategic communications guidance and support to Cenovus’s entire communication group and provide video story-telling expertise to internal clients. The role requires strategic and critical thinking skills to lead and complete a variety of tasks and projects across different internal teams and requires the ability to build strong partnerships with internal subject-matter experts and leaders, including the Cenovus Leadership Team (CLT) and senior leaders.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Developing and  implementing strategic communication plans that contribute to Cenovus’s business goals

  • Leading all aspects of video story telling and production on behalf of internal clients and the Media & Issues Management team

  • Coordinate, write and develop external communication materials, including: speaking notes, key messages, print collateral, speeches, FAQs, digital display content, or whatever is required

  • Ensure all communication materials reflect Cenovus’s brand and align with our strategy and culture, and are reviewed by the right internal subject matter experts

  • Provide recommendations for new tools or improvements to existing tools that help production and execution of communications goals

  • Provide communications support for company events when required (e.g. town halls, Innovation Summit etc.)

  • Lead a variety of external projects that require writing, coordination with designers/vendors, and managing reviews and approvals

  • Participate in the rotation of being the point person on the media relations inbox

  • Over time become part of the Crisis Communications rotation as communications officer 

  • Develop a strong understanding of Cenovus’s business, technology and key messaging, and stay informed on company and industry news and issues

 

Who you are:

 

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • 5 years of communications experience in a corporate setting or similar environment, including media

  • Superior writing and editing skills

  • Experience working with external communications, including digital communications solutions

  • Video production experience including writing, shooting and editing

  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and an understanding of current issues would be beneficial
