Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Maintenance and repair reports
Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul
Credentials: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Candidate Status:

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, load and unload goods, and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
• The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, oversee all aspects of the vehicle, and perform preventive maintenance
• The candidates should be able to pay and receive payments for goods, receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption, and tarping and ensure the safety and security of cargo
