We are currently seeking full-time NDT inspectors operating out of the head office in Brampton, Ontario. We specialize in Non-Destructive Testing & Visual Inspection; Lift Equipment Inspection/ Certifications and Bridge Inspections;
The job will require performing MPI inspections in various environments.
The successful candidates will be motivated, self-starters, eager to learn and grow with the company, with effective communication skills. Must be able to work in all climate conditions. Some travel will be required.
Successful candidates must ensure that:

• All work is performed in accordance with our Health & Safety Policy, Ontario Regulations, and Client Safety Requirements;
• Perform inspection according to set procedures;
• Write field reports and submit copies to client and office expeditiously;
• Maintain clear, complete and accurate records of time, mileage, and other expenses;
• Work independently or as part of a team;
• Liaise with clients as required, and;
• Assist dispatch to ensure job planning will be appropriate before going to site;
• Must live in the GTA
• Applicants must own a vehicle, hold a Valid Ontario Driver’s License, and be capable of travelling to various job sites around the GTA.

• CGSB certification in MT is a must

Job Description:

Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician’s responsibilities will include:

Orders and tracks parts and deliveries for all the Capexes and equipment we have

Runs PM system ready for customer or ISO audits

Runs Maintenance software  

Takes repair calls from office or other service calls, like broken door, cracked concrete patch etc. 

Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine breakdown issues and/or to order necessary parts.

Conduct and perform planned preventive & predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records.

Minimize production downtime by responding to production calls promptly.

Participate in spare parts control system and follow all department rules and regulations.

Support to dismantle and assemble equipment, tools and machines for repair.

Comply with all regulations relating to equipment for a manufacturing facility.

Record keeping of all maintenance of all activities on a daily basis.

Respond to shop floor requests for problem solving assistance.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

You will assist with the planning, scheduling and assignment of manpower to specific jobs within the Freight Car Repair and Freight Car Inspection, ensuring that all repairs and/or servicing are performed in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Company, AAR and TC regulations.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Conduct job briefings, end of shift briefings, safety meetings and activities, ensuring that safety rules, procedures and policies are adhered to thorough proficiency testing and safety tracking document
• Correct and document safety incidents, safety hazards/concerns, investigates for corrective actions to the various departments, involving the Health and Safety Committee in the prescribed timelines
• Support, communicate and deliver to key performance indicators.  Leads to ensure all direct reports have an understanding of the business objectives, as well as the role they are all accountable for
• Communicate and interact regularly with management within field operations to ensure Freight Car repair and train servicing is meeting the expectations of internal and external customers
• Ensure that there is the appropriate level of stock/material and is responsible for ordering within prescribed limits through the SAP system.  Supports all expenditure reduction initiatives
• Maintain communication and foster positive working relationships with local union officials. Ensures the collective agreement is understood and managed as it is written

• Ensure repairs and train servicing are in compliance with AAR, TC standards and Canadian Pacific policies
• Support mechanical forces at train incidents within their jurisdiction adhering to the guidelines of the Emergency Response Plan

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a minimum of a High school diploma or mechanical trade certification
• Proficient knowledge of railway operations (road, yard, freight car, mechanical)
• Working knowledge of CPKC systems (CIM, TYES, Nexus, SAP and Wreck Estimator) is an asset

Fastfrate Group is looking for an experienced Forklift Mechanic at our Woodbridge, Ontario, office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining forklifts and other heavy equipment.

• Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
• Interpret manufacturer’s technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed.
• Troubleshoot forklift problems, including brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, and detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and malfunctions.
• Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components.
• Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.
• Ability to work on LP systems
• Perform safety inspection of forklifts before being released to the work floor.
• Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required.
• Ensure the work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.
• Maintain an organized and neat work area.

• 3-5 years of experience in forklift and heavy equipment repair
• Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of Technicians in the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services for assigned facilities.  The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the execution of activities performed by Technicians to ensure that work is performed in accordance to established processes and practices and is in compliant with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.  In addition to people leadership responsibilities, the Maintenance Team Leader also performs and delivers preventative and corrective maintenance as well as routine and on-demand services.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership

• Leads a team of individual contributors
• Assigns, prioritizes and monitors work progress
• Monitors execution of activities and performance to ensure timely completion and adherence to all requirements including but not limited to operating procedures and practices, quality, performance and contract response requirements
• Guides, coaches and trains direct reports
• Provides input for performance review

Leads the delivery of as well as performs the following:

• Oversees and monitors the activities and performance of Technicians within assigned facility.  Ensures that activities are performed in accordance to established processes as well as internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection
• Oversees the proper application and execution of processes and practices to ensure achievement of and adherence to all requirements
• Oversees and performs regular facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems monitoring and inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met, uninterrupted client operation and asset integrity of assigned facility are maintained.  Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides recommendations for enhancement and repair
• Oversees and monitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, mechanical and electrical equipment and system monitoring and inspection
• Oversees and maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment
• Oversees and responds to routine and on-demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
• Oversees the maintenance of as well as maintains work order records within service management maintenance database.  Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required
• Coordinates and assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance program.  Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentations are maintained
• Coordinates and participates in facility-related projects
• Oversees and maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required.  Submits all expenditures on a timely basis
• Provides, participates and supports training, safety meetings, operational meetings, toolbox talks, etc.
• Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency callouts as they arise
• Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• 5 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience
• Previous people leadership experience, preferred
• High school diploma plus trades training and certification
• Ability to lead a team of individuals
• Highly advanced ability to adhere to processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
• Highly advanced ability to maintain and repair building mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
• Highly advanced building mechanical and electrical equipment and system troubleshooting and resolution skills
• Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
• Possesses a high level of environmental, health and safety mindset.  Ability to perform work in a safe manner
• Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
• Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

One or more of the following:

• Journeyman level Refrigeration license
• Journeyman level Electrical license
• Journeyman level Plumbing license
• Power Engineering 3rd Class or 4th Class
• Building Operator Certification
• Gasfitter I or II
• Systems Maintenance Administration Certification considered an asset
