What you’ll be working on:

·       Load Manifesting Accuracy

·       Load Manifesting Timeliness

·       Direct Sales (Incl. VFS) Billing Administration

·       Direct Sales (Incl. VFS) Invoice Accuracy

·       Dispatching planning for direct to store sales trucks

·       Inventory entry (Week-end Clerk)

·       GES route optimization

·       File maintenance / Data Entry

·       Daily & Weekly Invoice / POD Reconciliation

·       Timely order adjustment administration for Retail

·       Reconcile shift production reports for Manufacturing / Warehouse

·       Manage shift adjustment issues and ensure compliance to PFC policy

·       Ensure shift execution for cut cases reviews and back fill policies and procedures

·       Ensure loads are dispatched in the case of any OTR call-offs

·       Supporting the OTR drivers through daily operations (ex. asset breakdowns, load coverage, sales communication, etc.)

·       Understand key performance indicators for the role and provide input on how to improve them (LCV, Cube, QC Switches, etc.)

·       Complete weekly payroll duties (manual entry of data, run reports, work with drivers to audit pay sheets, etc.)

Job Details

The Package Delivery Driver position is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. Package Delivery Drivers must have excellent customer contact and driving skills. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver’s G or higher license issued in the state of Ontario. Package Delivery Drivers are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided vest/uniform.

Job Type: Full -Time Permanent

Work Location: Kitchener Center, 65 Trillium Park Place Kitchener ON N2E1X1, May be relocated to Guelph @ 550 Hanlon Creek Blvd Guelph ON N1C0E5

Workdays: Monday to Friday.

Shift Start: 9:30 AM (Flexibility with start & finish times is required based on operational needs) * average 8-10 hours

Hourly Wage: $18.00/hourly (Base Rate $17.30/hr. + Bonus of $0.70/hr.)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver and pick up UPS packages efficiently and effectively
  • Learn and properly execute UPS safe and defensive driving methods       Assist with loading and unloading trucks as required
  • Record, track, and maintain information about delivered packages
  • Comply with UPS appearance guidelines by wearing the company provided vest and uniform

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Proficiency in navigating and finding locations using maps, GPS devices, and map books
  • Possession of a valid Ontario G driver’s license
  • Clean Driver's Abstract confirming:  a) No violations for the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months) b) No accidents and maximum 5 demerit points for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • HOURLY WAGE: $18.00/hourly (Base Rate $17.30/hr. + Hourly Bonus of $0.70/hr.)
  • Guaranteed wage progression through Union Collective Agreement to $35.89 per hour after 48 months of service

  • Review route/load plan within system and initiate adjustments to the plan as required, inclusive of appointment freight.

  • Ensure all trailer and route planning in accordance with transportation laws and company policies regarding weight and weight distribution, cbing, transportation of dangerous goods are being followed
  • Plan dock loading, unloading and staging locations as well as monitor and execute dock door assignements

  • Ensure shipments are status coded when being added and/or removed from load plan
  • Making suggestions for improvement in planning and dock processes for increased efficiency
  • Other related duties as may be required 

Your Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of two-three years’ experience in dock and/or P&D dispatch operations, preferably in the transportation industry
  • Other experience in the transportation industry may be considered and in addition to dock/dispatch experience would be considered an asset. 
  • Strong communication skills in both English and French
  • Advanced computer skills as well as experience with MS Office products and web based programs.  Previous experience with Truckmate and Bringg is an asset
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Analytical thinker, able to analyze data and make operational decisions based on that data
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond to demands in a calm manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to manage demands and resolve issues 
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to implement proactive solutions to support operational demands and efficiencies.

You will play a key role in supporting our production and shipping team in a fast-paced work environment. Your function as a tow motor operator will be to support the production lines, load, unload and move materials as needed throughout the facility

Requirements
 

  • Must be licensed to operate a tow motor and propane
  • Completion High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good time management skills to prioritize assignments delegated by your Supervisor
  • Experience is an asset
